Barring an unlucky incident here in December (trouble at the start) MISS PAULINE has been running consistently well of late and she should give another good account in tonight's opener. Elite Miss warrants respect on the back of a workmanlike victory at Monmouth, while Victoriaslilsecret cannot be ruled out.
OLYMPIC PEGASUS hasn't put a foot wrong in both outings so far this year and he will be well fancied to complete the hat-trick tonight. Another bidding to make it three wins in a row, Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk, rates the biggest threat, while Our Royal Affair has place claims dropped in class.
RULE THE DAY showed plenty of encouraging signs when fourth on her racecourse debut over 6f here last month and, with improvement expected, she could take all the beating. Don't Panic has reached the frame in six of her seven starts thus far and should give another good account, while Systems Go is no forlorn hope.
SPICY STEVE was well held over C&D last month but now operating at this lower level he should take all the beating. Macho Star was behind the selection last time and is probably fighting it out for minor money at best. Barely Nothing appears a bigger danger and although denied a double here when last sighted, is holding his form well and looks the one for the forecast.
DIAMOND DISTRICT returned to form when third here last month and the drop back in trip is expected to be the catalyst for a return to the winners enclosure. Mr. W. B. continues to acquit himself with credit and a reproduction of his C&D second last time would give him solid claims here. The ever dependable Whiskey Lit also has place possibilities.
LEBO LADY looked one paced when staying on over 6f here last time and the step up in trip will boost her chances of breaking her maiden here. Fortynineacross is a little more exposed than the selection but will appreciate the return to 7f and can give her most to think about. Ann's Smart Dancer makes most appeal of the newcomers.
MUFFIN TOP is yet to run a bad race in her short career to date and she looks sure to play a leading role here so she gets the verdict over Smokin Queenie who takes a drop in grade. Holdme Kaz also has claims and she should be included in combination bets.
SCRIMDETERMINATION has been knocking on the door of late and she is fancied to get her head in front this time. Jackie's Express has also been running well of late and she is entitled to run another big race. Book Value can also be relied upon to run her race and she has place prospects.
STRAITFROMTHEHEART finished a close second over this C&D last time and a reproduction of that effort might be good enough to go one better this time round. Hey Now can also take a hand if putting his best foot forward. Brandons Beach is also on the shortlist despite a below par run last time.
