There was a lot to like about PEARL OF THE WEST's second-placed effort in a beginners chase at Wexford recently and the John McConnell-trained nine-year-old could go one place better on this switch to a handicap. Mulberry Hill likely has more to offer in this sphere too and isn't taken lightly now reverting to the larger obstacles. Fruit Blossom is another to consider on her chasing debut.
MULBERRY HILL would probably have finished second with a clear round on chase debut in May and having shaped pretty well back over timber since, she's worth another chance returned to fences. Pearl of The West and Champ de Gane head the opposition.

SPARK OF MADNESS seemed to very much appreciate the step up to 3m for the first time at Hexham, staying on strongly to claim second, and that was in a slightly higher grade than this so he boasts leading claims of going one better with Brian Hughes in the plate. The main threat might be Prince Cleni, who struck by six lengths at Southwell and should be on the premises again, even after a 6lb rise. Call Of The Loon isn't discounted either.
PRINCE CLENI improved for a tongue strap when scoring at Southwell last month and, with few miles on the clock, he can do enough to defy a rise at the likely expense of Limerick Leader, who has taken well to chasing. Call of The Loon, a stablemate of the selection, is also worth considering.

BOBBY SOCKS recorded a smooth success to go in by three lengths at Southwell on only his third start in handicap company and with the potential to improve further, he looks very much the one to beat. Haribo Collonges has had a wind operation since he was last seen, when third over C&D, and he could get into contention along with Go Bob Go, who returns to the fray and warrants a market check.
It's hard to get away from BOBBY SOCKS, who carries no penalty for his recent Southwell success. Haribo Collonges is feared most.
