Sant Elena was slowly away on her debut over this C&D last month but she was doing all of her best work in the closing stages. Sure to improve, she is one for any short-list. Prince Evelith will not lack support, but this can go to MAKAI. He ran a cracking race over 6f at Newcastle last month and was not disgraced in a decent race at York last time. He has the ability to capture this event.
HALFWAYTOPARADISE has shown consistent form in her three races to date, placing each time over 6f. A surefire future winner, she can secure this prize at the fourth time of asking. Bathwick Emma looks a little exposed but will not be far away, while the pick of the newcomers could be El Alamein and Tasalla, both of whom are entered in next year's Derby.
Recent winners Balakiref and Brigadore both have penalties to contend with, but either of them could be capable of following up. Value seekers should have a small each-way investment on Trojan Flight who will be staying on when others have cried enough, but a tentative vote is given to SWINBROOK. A winner over 5f on a firm surface at three, he has performed with credit in his last two starts over 6f and 7f and he could be up to this task.
BRAVE FIGHT had subsequent winners in behind when filling the runner-up berth and building on a decent debut third, at Sandown in August and he is taken to get off the mark following a short break. Eoghan O'Neill has done extremely well with his juveniles this season and after a short-head second on his debut at York earlier this month, Mortarboard could easily go one better. Godolphin newcomer Highlander appeals most of the remainder.
BITTER CHILL's debut form has worked out quite well and he is taken to build on that promising debut run and get off the mark in the hands of Alan Munro. Peter Chapple Hyam's horses have been in good order of late and the Agnes World colt is taken to get the better of Singular who made a pleasing start at Leicester earlier this month when taking second spot. Improvement is likely from both and they can battle out the finish ahead of Shariki and newcomer Alasoun.
Unbeaten this term, SOUND BREEZE is taken to maintain his unblemished record for the year and make it four wins on the bounce. His form has a solid look to it and with his yard firing on all cylinders he could be hard to stop. Tasdeed is the obvious danger following two good efforts over 7f to date, but whether he'll be ready for this longer trip following a break is open to question. Of the remainder, Alamiyan and Great Plains look the only feasable dangers on the formbook.
John Gosden's NINTH HOUSE ran well to finish third on his debut at Windsor in June and with that race throwing up a few winners since, he looks set to get off the mark. Mineko has finished second on her last three outings and looks best of the remainder with experience, but the newcomers Eccollo and Fort Augustus may prove bigger dangers.
Although he remains a maiden after 16 attempts Ronsard showed enough last time that he could pick up a race soon. Cantarna recorded her only win over C&D last year and has done reasonably well this term so can't be ruled out. CASTANZA showed little on three all-weather starts prior to her handicap and turf debut at Lingfield in July but she stepped up on all previous form to score comfortably. She looks ahead of the handicapper on that evidence and can follow up despite the short break.
