Andar missed out by a short head at Chepstow, showing pleasing improvement from his first to his second start, but he may be forced to settle for second best again, this time behind THAT'LL HAPPEN. Mick Channon's juvenile ran respectably to be third at Beverley and the form looks solid as the winner Lathom has since landed the Super Sprint at Newbury. Any support for Mark Johnston's newcomer In Ken's Memory should be noted, while Parkour is another debutant worth keeping an eye on.

Watch out for: Andar (1)

ANDAR left his debut form in his wake when collared on the line at Chepstow in July. He looks the type to go on improving and his experience may tip the balance over a couple of likely-looking newcomers in the shape of Parkour and In Ken's Memory.

A number of these will be hoping the switch to nurseries brings about improvement, including Alabaaly and Goodknight Percy, who have shown glimpses of ability in their maiden starts. Bathos appeared to show promise in three runs but was beaten out of sight at Chester last time, so CLIODHNA is the tentative choice. A fair third in selling handicap company at Lingfield, the step up to this trip promises to suit and a 2lb lower mark will make life a shade easier too.

Ed Dunlop's QUEENSBURY ODYSSEY has shown definite signs of promise the last twice and could be the type to improve a good bit now switching his attentions to nurseries over a longer trip. Alabaaly and Goodknight Percy are a couple of others who have more than hinted at ability in maidens and could come into their own now handicapping.

Monasada let favourite-backers down at Epsom but may be happier now dropped slightly in trip, whereas Carnachy steps up in distance after plugging on for second in a three-runner affair at Chepstow. Kazziana, a daughter of Shamardal out of dual Classic winner Kazzia, is an interesting debutant, as is Roger Varian's Mediation, but LIBERALITY has already proved she is useful over this trip when second at Windsor and could be the one to be on.

QUEEN'S PEARL ended last season with victory at Yarmouth and has continued in a similar vein at HQ this term, finishing second on her reappearance before winning nicely last time. A 3lb rise for that success looks fair and she can get the better of Gold Waltz, who is up 6lb for an emphatic triumph at Chepstow. Celtic Sixpence is 5lb higher than for her victory over C&D and should not be ruled out, nor should Honeysuckle Lil, who has been raised 3lb for her second at Newcastle.

MUST HAVE has filled third spot on his last two starts, over 7f at Leicester and then when first tried at this trip at Newmarket. Having proven he stays this far, William Jarvis's charge can strike at the expense of Merritt Island, who was too keen to do herself justice at Epsom but her previous form reads well. Straight Arrow struck at Wetherby but an 11lb hike looks harsh, while Trader Jack won when last at this venue but may need a stiffer test of stamina these days.

STRAIGHT ARROW was impressive when beating a next-time-out winner to open his account in a Wetherby handicap last month.
