WAKANDA is expected to get his supporters off to the best possible start and can successfully concede weight to these rivals judged by his smooth Haydock success in Grade 2 company last time. Sue Smith's charge boasts a rating of 142, so is some way clear off that mark, and the form of his Haydock win reads well given the runner-up Cogry has since won at Warwick. Voyage A New York and Sealous Scout are taken to put up most resistance, but Sue Smith's stable can win this for the second year running.

Sue Smith looks to have found WAKANDA a good opportunity to supplement his Grade 2 Haydock victory last month, and he gets the nod with question marks hanging over his rivals for one reason or another. SMOOTH STEPPER is worth sticking while open to further improvement and a 10lb hike in the weights for his latest success at Wetherby might not be enough to stop him completing a hat-trick. Sue Smith's charge was making his debut in handicap company when winning with something up his sleeve at the Yorkshire track last month and the drop back to 2m shouldn't faze him judged by his Sedgefield success. Of the others, Teo Vivo and Dark Dune are closely matched on a line through Streets Of Newyork, and Desoto County wouldn't be without claims if his effort at Musselburgh in December has brought him forward.

An intriguing renewal in which a case can be made for many. North Yorkshire Grand National hero Scotswell reopposes brave runner-up Herdsman, and Alpha Victor wouldn't be without claims judged on his second-placed effort in last year's Midlands Grand National. Knockanrawley rarely runs a bad race and wasn't for stopping when winning over the extended 3m2f trip at Newbury, but this could be between the top three in the handicap. Shotgun Paddy ran a blinder for third in the Classic Chase at Warwick and should get this trip well if his effort in last season's four-miler at Cheltenham is anything to go by. Wyck Hill won last year's renewal off 8lb lower and his spin over timber at Chepstow will have put him spot on, but slight preference is for the 2012 winner PORTRAIT KING, who stays forever and arrives on the back of two creditable performances in competitive handicaps at Punchestown.

SHOTGUN PADDY can resume winning ways with the return to 4m+ expected to suit. Alpha Victor has been given a chance by the handicapper (now 2 lb lower than when second in Midlands National) and will be a big threat if building on his back-to-form second over hurdles, while last year's winner Wyck Hill looks primed for another bold bid after also running well over timber on last month's return.

DERRINTOGHER BLISS was raised 10lb for his victory at Huntingdon, but showed he can be effective off his new mark when not beaten too far at Sandown last time. He looks the one to be on, although a big run from Ballyboker Breeze could be on the cards as he has got on with things from the front in the past and might not face much competition for the lead. Uisge Beatha had Donna's Diamond in arrears when running well in a competitive Cheltenham trial at Musselburgh and Powerstown Dreams took a step back in the right direction at Market Rasen.

Faerie Reel looks a leading danger, as she didn't give her true running in a Listed race at Taunton last time, but had scored with a bit up at sleeve prior to that and can bounce back to form here. Announcement has been unsuccessfully tried in Pattern company but wasn't beaten far at Aintree in December and can get on the premises if resuming her progression.

Definite Dream comes into this on a steep upward curve having registered comfortable wins at Ffos Las and Ayr the last twice, while Rouge Et Blanc went close last time and is entitled to make his presence felt again. However, OSCAR ROCK was a smart performer over hurdles while always looking like a chaser in the making and his fencing debut second at Kelso is proving very strong form indeed. He should be more streetwise this time around and makes strong appeal.

There remains an element of unfinished business about OSCAR ROCK, and having found a subsequent Grade 2 winner too good on chase debut in December, he gets the narrow vote now fitted with blinkers on handicap bow.
