WARRIOR ONE appeared to leave all previous form firmly behind when scoring by 13 lengths on his seasonal reappearance at Wetherby last month and he could be up to defying a weight penalty this afternoon. Flinty Bay is a lightly-raced improver from the Nicky Richards yard and strong market support might be worth heeding, while dual bumper winner Storm Brig looks an interesting hurdling recruit and could also make his presence felt.
Bumper winners Storm Brig and Fairynuff have promising futures over jumps, but classy Flat recruit Crackentorp will be very hard to beat if he takes to hurdling.

THE KNOXS hasn't raced since finishing last of five in a novice hurdle at Perth in April but he has some eye-catching form over the smaller obstacles, including a defeat of Wymott here in January. He now embarks on a chasing career and could have the class to make a winning start. Lord Larsson is getting closer to the mark with every run over fences and must be respected accordingly, while Mr Syntax is another chasing newcomer to consider.
The Knoxs finished last season under a cloud, but a repetition of his earlier hurdles form would make him hard to beat in a race his yard has won twice in 3 years. Lord Larsson could push him closest.

Multiple point-to-point winner BUCKSTRUTHER got it together over hurdles for the first time with a gritty success on his return to action at Kelso last month and with confidence bound to be high, he looks set to go close again. Soul Magic looks a little harshly done to having gone up 5lb in the weights for his recent head second at Carlisle, so perhaps Stormion might pose the selection most problems.
Hard to be confident about many but it may pay to side with the more unexposed types such as Bob Will, Sambelucky and Not Talking, who are selected in that order.

PRIMROSE TIME has to shoulder a 7lb penalty for her recent win at Carlisle but she did it in convincing style that day and considering she is due to go up 10lb in the ratings, it is no surprise to see connections looking to strike again while the iron is hot. Prioryjo looked as good as ever when narrowly denied at Haydock last time and should go well, despite racing off a 4lb higher mark. Pamak D'Airy is also considered.
Primrose Time travelled like an improved performer when winning at Carlisle last time and can follow up under a penalty at the chief expense of Pamak d'Airy.

EMPRESS ORCHID showed plenty of promise in her three runs last year and, although she has a lengthy lay-off to overcome, she could take all the beating on her reappearance for the in-form McCain/Maguire combination. Miss Abbey did not really progress in bumpers after making a winning debut but she could be capable of better now tackling hurdles and she is worthy of consideration, along with Tchikita and Hole In One.
Empress Orchid hasn't been seen since June 2009, but had looked promising and returns in a very winnable contest for a bang-in-form yard. Catleen and Miss Abbey look best placed to take advantage if the selection doesn't live up to expectations.

Overquest carries a 7lb penalty for his 3m2f Carlisle win on Monday but he did win with plenty in hand and he can mount another bold bid. Border Reiver and Dallas Bell are others to consider.
Ocarina and Overquest both arrive here in cracking form, with marginal preference for the former. Royal Mackintosh won on his reappearance over hurdles last autumn and is handicapped to be involved if a break has sorted out whatever was ailing him towards the end of last season.

ZARU shaped nicely on his debut at Ayr in December last year and there should be considerable improvement to come from him. He can make his presence felt on his reappearance today. Thurnham shaped encouragingly on his debut and he is entitled to be on the premises, while the same can be said for Middlebrook. High Hoylander, Master Murphy and Allbarkanobite showed ability first time out and they are all respected.
Middlebrook has leading claims on the form of his Carlisle second, and may well do better too, so is just preferred to the promising pair Zaru and High Hoylander.
