ALI BIN NAYEF has posted a couple of decent efforts on the all-weather and is fancied to make it third-time lucky here. 240,000-pound purchase Puissant encountered plenty of market support on his racecourse bow at Newbury and can improve for that experience if coming out of the stalls more positively. Stravagante is another contender who can improve for his debut outing, while Derby entrant Keble could hit the ground running along with the 190,000gns purchase Murgan.

Watch out for: Puissant (8)

Quite an interesting maiden to kick things off. Puissant must be quite well regarded given the support behind him ahead of last month's Newbury debut and he could improve a fair bit with that initial experience under his belt. Mezajy is another who should build on a promising debut, while the Gosden newcomer Keble makes obvious appeal on paper.

ALNASHAMA has some eye-catching entries in the Dewhurst and next year's Derby and wasn't completely disgraced when exhibiting plenty of greenness in fifth at Leicester. That first run ought to have to taught him a good deal and he is given the vote. Dagher is a half-brother to three winners and showed some promise when eighth at Ascot on his racecourse bow. There could be more to come from him, likewise Yorkindred Spirit who was fourth when well supported on debut at Beverley.

Top Tip: Alnashama (1)
Watch out for: Yorkindred Spirit (9)

The fact Alnashama went off 7/2 on his recent Leicester debut suggests he's quite well regarded and he's taken to get off the mark at the second time of asking. Yorkindred Spirit and Dagher look the obvious dangers unless the market speaks in the favour of the Prescott newcomer Night Generation.

BLEU ASTRAL was just three and a half lengths behind the more experienced Secret Brief on his first start at Thirsk, and with that winner subsequently landing a valuable Newmarket sales race, he looks the one to side with. Capel Path got closer on his second outing at Sandown and might give the selection something to think about if continuing on an upward trajectory. The 180,000-euro Castle Talbot and the 170,000gns Taysh make their debuts for leading connections and complete the shortlist, along with fellow newcomer Khafayya.

It might be worth taking a chance on newcomer BAILEYS PARTYTIME as she is a half-sister to five winners, including Listed scorer Party Boss and top hurdler Countrywide Flame, and looks to have a touch of class in her pedigree. Direct Times ran a cracker on debut at Doncaster to finish third and seeks to overcome a lengthy absence, likewise Advance who was second at Lingfield on his racecourse bow but hasn't been sighted for 218 days.

Direct Times has been off a long time since his debut, but he showed definite promise there and still looks the one to beat. BLUE MAISEY was an impressive winner over the extended 1m at Beverley last time and a 6lb penalty may not be enough to anchor her if arriving in the same mood. Abbotsfield made it sixth time lucky in a C&D maiden last month and potentially looks a fair bit better than this mark of 65. She should be involved at the business end, while Ayr third Breakable isn't without a chance either.

Watch out for: Abbotsfield (8)

Breakable made a most encouraging return from a lengthy lay-off when third at Ayr in September. She is entitled to be a lot sharper with that under her belt and may prove the best option. La Havrese has lost no caste in defeat since opening her account at Catterick in August and is also respected. Spirit of Alsace and Clumber Place make the most appeal of the remainder.

Arcamante has been hammering on the door and should show up well again, while comfortable Pontefract scorer Beat The Shower and the Brian Ellison-trained Viva Colonia are also expected to figure prominently.

Woody Bay was only a neck behind subsequent winner No Poppy when third in a competitive Haydock handicap latest and he warrants plenty of respect off 2lb higher, while Thankyou Very Much and Polar Forest make up the shortlist.
