Verdict

There are some interesting newcomers on show notably Emerald Crystal and Twelve Steps but PRAGMATISM shaped with lots of promise on his Brighton debut and the experience is entitled to have brought him on considerably. He looks to set the standard, but Savarain should also improve on his debut at Newmarket and should give him plenty to think about.

Verdict

Ballisodare and Bungaku are newcomers worth noting in the betting, while Roger Charlton's juveniles have often improved for a run this season so it will be no surprise to see Trianon leave her Haydock debut form behind this time. This will be tough against the boys though and she could just prove vulnerable and perhaps RED TWIST is the one to be with. Hughie Morrison's colt shaped with loads of promise here on debut and is entitled to have much more to offer with that experience under his belt.

Verdict

Almajd got off the mark at the first time of asking and is worth noting with improvement likely but Iguazu Falls has the highest official rating of these and he lost little in defeat behind River Proud in this grade last time. He must go well for the in-form Godolphin team but there are some interesting types against him, not least FIFTEEN LOVE. Having chased home Rio De La Plata on debut, the latter has won his next two in fine style. As long as the rain stays away, he must have excellent claims of getting a Pattern race victory under his belt.

Verdict

Ivy Creek may do better back over a longer trip but Sir Michael Stoute's record at progressing older horses is second to none and in GALACTIC STAR he has a really smart staying prospect on his hands. Having taken a while for the penny to drop, he has thrived of late and it was hard not to be taken with his latest Newmarket success. Godolphin provide some stiff opposition in the shape of Crime Scene but he may struggle to stop the selection completing the four-timer.

Perfect Act is not without a chance back over 7f but MISSIT sets the standard here after two fine runs in Pattern company the last twice and her Newmarket second last weekend was a really good performance. Verdict

King's Event is capable of much better and, if the Hannon team were in better form, then Mr Aviator would be one to seriously consider here as he has some smart efforts to his name this summer. But it's C&D winner AJHAR, who showed a willing attitude when second at Ascot last time and remains open to improvement, that gets the vote.
