Apple's Jade is the obvious starting point in this race given her three Grade 1 victories last season but she is arguably a mare who gets better with racing and that leaves her vulnerable today. Monksland was rather flat when wining narrowly at Thurles recently but that run should bring him on. JER'S GIRL was still in contention when falling three out in the Mares Hurdle, won by Apple's Jade, in March and she is fit from a win on the Flat and a slightly disappointing run in the Istabraq Hurdle last month. In receipt of 7lb from the aforementioned pair, the five-year-old has plenty going for her.
APPLE'S JADE has already won 5 Grade 1s in her career, including 4 last season, and will take plenty of beating if ready to go on return, though it's worth bearing in mind she was beaten on her reappearance last term. Jer's Girl is feared most.

This is likely to be one of the weakest Grade 2 races to be run anywhere in Ireland this season and it is an ideal opportunity for ALISIER D'IRLANDE to make a winning seasonal debut. He dominated a weak Grade 3 at Naas in February and he should be hard to pass once again. Clarcam and The Game Changer give the Gordon Elliot/Gigginstown partnership a strong hand, while Fine Rightly is likely to find this trip on the sharp side.
CLARCAM never really threatened in a couple of competitive handicaps towards the end of last season, but he has a good record in small field events, and is taken to add to his tally. Alisier d’Irlande and The Game Changer look the other key players.

The strong-travelling FOOTPAD looked to be maturing with every run throughout last season, but seems to have reached his ceiling over hurdles having fallen short at the very highest level. That said, he looks a horse who could prosper now tried over fences and he could take plenty of beating with a clear round of jumping here. Brelade has been held on both chase starts so far but is sure to be one of the more likelier protagonists here if repeating the best of his novice hurdle form, while improvement is required from both Bel Ami De Sivola and Minella Till Dawn if they are to land a telling blow.
FOOTPAD developed into a very smart hurdler last season, and he looks well up to making a winning chase debut here. Brelade can give him most to think about ahead of Sort It Out.

INVINCIBLE CAVE was an impressive seven-length winner of a Bartlemy point in the spring and should take all the beating on his Rules debut having been bought by Gigginstown for 210,00 pounds and now resides in the care of Gordon Elliott. The leading owners also have Valdieu, who finished down the field in a Punchestown bumper won by Vision Des Flos, while top amateur pilot Patrick Mullins partners Jammy George for his racecourse debut.
Leading connections went to £210,000 to acquire INVINCIBLE CAVE following his point win in May and a winning Rules debut would come as no surprise. Valdieu, a former Elliott inmate and still representing Gigginstown, is probably the one for the forecast.
