LOST IN PARIS remains a maiden after 13 attempts but this looks a good opportunity for the gelding to make his mark. He runs off a career-low rating but has responded well to the recent drop to sprint trips, latterly leading until late on when third to Cheyenne Red at Hamilton over 6f. He led at the furlong pole and this drop to the minimum trip should suit. In contrast, Fasliyanne is inching up the weights as a result of his consistency and this 5f specialist looks sure to go well again. Hawkeyethenoo and Inthawain have each-way claims.
Sleepy Valley doesn't look on a bad mark on the pick of her form and the return to quicker ground can see her shed her maiden tag. The consistent Fasliyanne and Lost In Paris could give her most to think about.

Dark Moment rattled up a hat-trick in the space of eight days in August, on each occasion displaying admirable battling qualities to score by a half length or less. He's been raised 16lb for those successes which may be a sufficient imposition to prevent the four-timer. VIOLENT VELOCITY is thoroughly exposed but has enjoyed a fine season, gets on particularly well with his young rider and this reliable C&D winner is taken to land a fourth campaign success. Plenty of others are respected in an open heat with John Keats of especial interest, reverting to 7f for the first time since 2006.
Although Sea Salt was flattered by his proximity to some much higher rated rivals last time, he had earlier been impressive at Thirsk and can get the better of Violent Velocity and Dark Moment here.

An interesting seller in which GRACEFUL DESCENT is taken to build on a comfortable claiming success at Hamilton last time. That victory arrived on soft ground but the filly is equally adept on fast terrain and has been a model of consistency this term, finishing in the front two on all five outings. She stays this trip and is preferred to Shekan Star, a solid performer in low grade handicaps this term, most recently when second to Shifting Gold at Newcastle. The 3-y-o Tessarae should go well at these terms and Birkside can never be ruled out in these contests.
Graceful Descent looks the pick in a poor seller and can make a winning start for new connections. Birkside and Flying Phoebe could emerge best of the rest.

BURGUNDY ICE is the sole Godolphin representative on the card and has strong claims if forgiven a disappointing effort behind Shamwari Lodge at York last time (started favourite). She had previously made an excellent seasonal reappearance when second at Sandown and can give the weight away if back to her best. She's In The Money rates a major threat for the relentlessly successful Fahey operation and should still have improvement to give after scoring cosily at Ayr last time. A 6lb rise for that success seems reasonable. The hat-trick seeking Poppet's Lovein and Feeling Fab are also considered.
She's In The Money has thrived for her change of stable and can follow up her impressive Ayr success, perhaps at the main expense of To Be Or Not To Be and Poppet's Lovein.

SUNNYSIDE TOM operates effectively under all conditions and was only caught in the shadow of the post last time by Admiral Dundas in an above-average claimer at Hamilton. He has already scored twice in handicap company at Carlisle this term and also outpointed Fishforcompliments at Hamilton. He can regain the winning thread here. Wovoka has a decent turn of foot at this level and could hunt up the selection if building on his recent Newcastle claiming success. Royal Power is interesting dropped into this grade with Court Masterpiece and King Of The Moors not ruled out.
Wovoka and Sunnyside Tom are leading contenders judged on recent evidence, with the former just preferred. Court Masterpiece looks on the downgrade and might have to settle for minor honours at this level again.

SPIRIT IS NEEDED was seemingly unfancied when scoring in an ordinary Leicester maiden last time but did the job most professionally and could be attractively treated on this handicap bow. Mark Johnston regularly runs up sequences with this type of performer and the gelding is just preferred to the progressive Ascendant. The latter looks a typical Prescott improver too and will be suited by trip and ground. There should be little between the pair with recent scorer, Ifatfirst, looking best of the rest.
The unexposed pair Ascendant and Spirit Is Needed will likely dominate the market. The latter is the more appealing of that duo but Abstract Folly is taken as the value alternative. Ifatfirst should also be on the premises.

This looks really trappy with endless chances and WICKED WILMA is nothing more than a token selection. Overall she has performed with credit this term and scored nicely over C&D on her penultimate run. She has a good stands side draw too and should give a decent account. Strensall is well into the veteran stage but retains his enthusiasm and form well and should be premises once again. Rocketball has not been at his best of late but would contend if returning to his best.
Rocketball ran a fine race at Goodwood last time considering the task he faced. A reproduction of that can see him score here, perhaps at the chief expense of Windjammer and Wicked Wilma.
