Singhalongtasveer is well weighted on his Kelso win but other efforts have been disappointing, while Muckle Flugga is also well treated but seems to have lost her way. Mr Ex turned in his best performance to date when second in a Catterick seller but has a lot more on his plate here and preference is for OR DE GRUGY, twice a winner in his short Flat career. Second over C&D last time, he's obviously going the right way and should be open to further improvement after just five starts over timber.

Sharp Reply, Merrymaker and KEY TIME, all landed C&D successes last time out but all the evidence points to victory for the Howard Johnston gelding. He has a fraction more experience than the other two, was higher rated on the Flat and was the most impressive when scoring by nine lengths from Ferrando here in December. He should have the edge now.

The presence of DEGAS ART here has presumably frightened away most of the opposition here. Unbeaten in two starts over hurdles, including a defeat of Triumph Hurdle fancy Katchit, Howard Johnston's charge is also heading for that Cheltenham race and should be able to take this on his way to a tilt at the big prize. Purple Moon, a good sort on the Flat when with Sir Michael Stoute, won over C&D on his hurdling debut and looks the one for the forecast.

Diktatorial and Fortunate Isle have some decent handicap form on the Flat but the latter has the advantage of a run over timber - when third in a Catterick maiden behind Pevensey - and makes more appeal. However, MODICUM, was less than a length second in that Catterick race - his third start and second runners-up spot over hurdles - and should make his experience pay today.

Dancing Lyra won a C&D maiden in December but has much more on his plate here, while Kings Quay has struggled since tackling handicap company. Double Vodka, a C&D winner last time, may struggle with an another 8lb to carry and it's worth taking a chance on BOGUS DREAMS. He has only run three times since returning from a lay-off but hit form with a C&D win last time and might be able to defy a 10lb rise in the weights now.
