A small field suggests that this could get tactical and if that is the case, then COUSIN OSCAR may come out on top. He was pulled up last time out at Worcester, but that was over fences and he returns to hurdles here. A confirmed front runner, he may dictate his own pace in this field, leaving Iolani to try to close late and My Macho Man to possibly pick up third.
DIAMOND STATE probably needs further ideally but this could potentially be a good opening for him on his return. He's clearly got races in him judged on several of his efforts here last season, including when keeping on behind Iolani in a valuable handicap on his last run. Dianne Sayer's charge continues in good form and looks the solid alternative.

BROADWAY JOE represents the same yard who won this in 2019 and, after his win at Kelso on his debut over the larger obstacles, he may go well if ironing out the odd error. Lastofthecosmics is well-handicapped on his best hurdling form and is one to respect, while Who's The Guv'nor may come out on top of the Micky Hammond-trained pair.
MILLARVILLE may lack a bit of determination at the business end but the drop back in trip and change of headgear may help and she has the assistance of Brian Hughes. Broadway Joe is going the right way and looks an obvious threat on the back of his winning chase debut at Kelso on return 11 days ago, while Shaws Bridge is an interesting newcomer to this sphere.

Drumfire ran well enough on his debut when second at Sedgefield to suggest that he may have a win in him, though he is not quite as interesting as newcomer Collingham. Three times a winner on the Flat in France, he makes his hurdling debut here for an in-form yard and is one to consider. They look the biggest dangers to WE STILL BELIEVE, who was beaten less than five lengths in to third at Wetherby last month. He needs to brush up on his hurdling, but may prove good enough if that is the case.
COLLINGHAM has garnered plenty of experience on the Flat in France, winning his last couple of starts, and being related to winning hurdlers, he makes plenty of appeal starting out for a yard in scintillating form. A winner of two of his last five in this sphere, the son of Policy Maker is a progressive sort who may not be done improving just yet. Jackhammer shaped well at Kelso and he is likely to enter the reckoning on his chase debut. Izzy's Champion remains on a mark 14lb lower than his last victory and is another to note.
GOUET DES BRUYERES has returned an improved model, successful at Worcester prior to going down fighting at Ludlow last month. The drop back in trip will hold no fears and he looks sure to be in the mix again.
