GUNS AND GLORY may have finished behind Tokyo Tower (second) and Tactical Bound (third) when filling fourth place over a mile here last month, but the son of Gun Runner was making his racecourse debut on that occasion. He caught the eye when making a wide move to chase the leader on the home turn and paid for those exertions when picked off late on by the aforementioned pair. With the benefit of that outing, it would be no surprise to see Bhupat Seemar's colt reverse that form and get off the mark. Tapit'staleofverve is a noteworthy newcomer for powerful connections, while Destructive could go well if handling the dirt.
TOKYO TOWER improved markedly last time and a further step forward puts him right in the mix. Kibo Misaki can come out best of the remainder, while Tactical Bound is another with the potential to be on the premises in a trappy-looking race.

The fact that William Buick has picked the selection over Beautiful Love, who was fourth at Listed level at Newmarket when last seen, suggests that she could be able to make a big impact at this level. The aforementioned Beautiful Love is likely to be the main threat, although Geologist is a useful performer and was not disgraced on her UAE debut over C&D a month ago.

That said, marginal preference is for MISCHIEF MAGIC, who stayed on into fourth in the Ertijaal Dubai Dash over 5f last time. That effort suggests that he should relish this step back up in trip and could prove to be the class act in this field. Batwan was behind Walbank last month but the draw was a valid excuse for that defeat, although he does not appear to be ideally berthed once again. Yonafis is another with valid form claims, while Ladies Church and Demain also merit consideration.

The one to beat is clearly LEGEND OF TIME, who readily accounted for most of these rivals when winning the trial for this race a month ago. The way he finished that contest suggests that this extra furlong may bring about further improvement and it will take a big effort to deny him. Shamrock Glitter did not get a clear run at a crucial stage when second in the trial but it is still hard to see him reversing that form. Musical Act, a stablemate of the selection, has won his last two starts in the UK and is another to consider.
LEGEND OF TIME is very much on the upgrade and will take all the beating. Shamrock Glitter is another who could have a big say in proceedings, while Musical Act can't be ruled out either.

A case can be made for most of these but the vote goes to FIRST SIGHT, who has been gelded since winning over this trip on his most recent outing at Yarmouth in September. Charlie Appleby's representative will need to improve to defy his current mark, but this is only his sixth start and progress is likely to be forthcoming. Franz Kafka just held off Laser Guided (second) and Return To Dubai (fourth) when winning here recently but he's not certain to confirm that form, as he was race-fit going into that contest. FIRST SIGHT represents powerful connections and is taken to win again in this good-quality handicap. Kathab is interesting on UAE debut and also merits respect, while Big Meeting is another that can't be ruled out.
