A good seller with General Alarm's front-running tactics well-suited to this sharp track. He'll go well, especially as he gets on well with his claiming pilot. Harry Potter finally obliged last time but this is tougher and Coronado Gold is reliable at this level and not underestimated, whilst Bolton Hall, regressive on the level, is an interesting debutant under Denis O'Regan. A chance is taken with MENDIP DANE, claimed out of the Nicholls yard (after one run) when a decent second at Worcester latest.

A useful novice contest and plenty with chances. Chrysander was more resolute than Ocean Du Moulin last time and jumps well. Genghis looks sure to pick up a race sooner or later and recent runner-up performances at Worcester and Aintree reflect his current wellbeing. Aleron is worth noting as he likes it round here, while the lightly-raced John Diamond may have plenty more to offer. La Grande Villez and McEvoy are others to consider.

Some disappointing types line up here but LAURELDEAN MELODY is given another chance with trip and track likely to suit.
