UHTRED RAGNARSON comfortably accounted for his nearest rival by four and a half lengths at Warwick last month and a 7lb rise might underestimate that effort. On just his third outing in a handicap, the son of Holy Roman Emperor could progress to go in again. Bathgate occupied the runner-up berth at Sedgefield on his latest outing and is likely to go well again with the Philip Kirby yard in good form. Wind Your Neck In is another to note.
Bathgate was back to form at Sedgefield last time and is due to race off 6lb higher in future. He really ought to go close but UHTRED RAGNARSON has the greater potential as a relatively unexposed 4yo. He returned from a break with a stylish win at Warwick and a 7lb rise is unlikely to be enough to prevent him scoring again. Don't rule out a better run from the veteran Lady Babs, who clearly needed her reappearance run but goes especially well at this venue. Whether she can repel the improving selection remains to be seen, however.

Lights Go Down only found one too good on his hurdling debut at Sedgefield, but the one that appeals most is MOJITO DES MOTTES. Ben Pauling's charge was well beaten into second behind a promising type at Ludlow and would have learnt a great deal from that experience. With any progression, he could be the one to beat. Any market confidence behind Private Dancer on his first start for the Skeltons would be interesting.
Lunar Orbit has undergone a wind operation since his last run and has it in him to go well, with his stable in form, but he lacks the potential of Mojito Des Mottes or PRIVATE DANCER. The first-named has a penalty and needs to do better than on his British debut - softer ground this time would aid his cause - so we'll go with the Dan Skelton-trained runner. Private Dancer ran with distinct promise in both runs on the Flat in France and looks just the type to take well to hurdles.

HARRY LOWES created a striking impression when making a winning start under Rules at Exeter and now takes a big step up in trip. With any amount of improvement to come, the son of Walk In The Park can defy his 7lb penalty to go in again. Montemares justified favouritism with ease at Hereford last month and is another exciting prospect, so he would be foolish to dismiss. Kefir D'oudairies looks best of the rest.
There was a lot to like about the rules debut of HARRY LOWES, who scored comfortably in a novice hurdle at Exeter over a trip that'll prove short of this former winning pointers best. He has a penalty now, but has Graded potential and he really ought to defy a penalty over this longer trip. Montemares has a penalty also, having made a winning debut at Hereford. He's open to significant improvement but faces a tough task trying to take down the selection. Kefir D'Oudairies receives weight from the two already mentioned but lacks their potential.

SEAHOUSES had plenty in hand when winning over C&D three weeks ago and that performance suggests that even a 7lb rise may not be enough to stop him from following up. Mac's Legacy ran well when third on the back of a lengthy break at Ffos Las a month ago and he could prove to be the main threat, ahead of East Eagle.
It's unlikely we've seen the best of Harry Bright for the Skeltons. He's up in trip for this handicap debut and could improve, but SEAHOUSES has already shown himself to be improving and won in quite taking fashion over the C&D last time. He gets on well for this rider and a 7lb rise may not be enough to stop him following up. East Eagle returned to form when runner-up at Southwell last time, travelling well, and he's due to race off 3lb higher in future, so needs respecting at the foot of the weights.

JUKEBOX D'EDDY has finished second in all of his last four starts and the six-year-old will not find many better opportunities than this to go one better, especially as he may improve in a first-time visor. Ithaka occupied the runner-up berth over hurdles here when last seen in March and has to be noted with Sean Bowen booked. Alltalknoaction arguably has slightly less to prove than Great Name That of the remainder.
None of these make an overly compelling case. Alltalknoaction has the most potential after just one chase start and he's likely to improve for the longer trip, but JUKEBOX D'EDDY is the most solid. He's consistent, has course form and the addition of a first-time visor could provide enough of a spark to see him finally get off the mark. GET OUT OF MY WAY is closely related to plenty of winners and Fergal O'Brien's expensive newcomer is the first one to consider in an open race. Dan Skelton introduces the nicely-bred filly, Lady Boujee, who may emerge as the biggest danger to the selection on her racecourse bow. Chemical Dave and Exiguus are the pick of those with bumper experience.
This looks set to go to either Lady Boujee or GET OUT OF MY WAY, both newcomers from good yards. We'll go with the latter given he's a brother to the same stable's smart bumper/novice hurdler Tripoli Flyer. Lady Boujee is clearly one to respect for the Skeltons, albeit she doesn't stick out on pedigree. Don't be surprised to see a better effort from Chemical Dave. He was a bit disappointing on his Doncaster debut but better was clearly expected.
