THE WILD WILD SEA was a comfortable winner when stepped up to this distance for the first time at Southwell last month and she could shrug off a 7lb rise in the weights. The mare pulled well clear with the second on that occasion, giving a solid look to the form, and Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero's charge can hold off the attentions of the ultra-consistent Mr Yeats. Beau Haze can make her presence felt, while Kilchreest Moon is another to consider on his return from an absence.
MR YEATS rarely runs a bad race and a repeat of the form that saw him finish second at Plumpton 3 weeks ago could be enough for him to go one better. The Wild Wild Sea is a danger if she can back up her recent Southwell success and Anuas Ar An Bpost should be suited by the return to hurdling.

EMINENT POET may be the eldest of the trio, but the son of Montjeu has proved he retains plenty of ability. After 820 days away from the track, Venetia Williams' charge returned with an excellent display at Exeter in February when beaten by four lengths and he should take some stopping this afternoon. Balko Saint is feared most, though he will need to settle better and the small-field scenario may not play to his strengths. Ultimate Getaway remains lightly-raced and is certainly not dismissed.
Not much to choose between BALKO SAINT and Eminent Poet on hurdles form but the emphasis on speed at this trip should suit the former. Ultimate Getaway has plenty to find on hurdles form but it wouldn't be a surprise if he made his presence felt with doubts surrounding his 2 rivals.

FLAMING AMBITION followed up a Warwick victory with a close-up second at Southwell last time and if the handicapper is right, he looks well treated in this contest despite his winner's penalty. Gris Majeur also carries a penalty for his win at Hereford but he was beaten a long way in a hot race at Chepstow latest, while Tikitov has been knocking on the door at this track recently but is rated 10lb below the selection and only receives 7lb in this. Kabrit showed some useful form over fences last summer and is interesting on his return over the smaller obstacles.
FLAMING AMBITION just about shades the vote on these terms so is preferred to Tikitov and Gris Majeur.

You Name Him was a modest third at Uttoxeter last time but that proves his stamina for this trip and a 2lb lower mark here will help, while Akentrick is 5lb lower than when second at Musselburgh late last year, but that's due to a number of mediocre efforts since. Fantomas ran a respectable race over this trip at Taunton in November but his two runs since have been less impressive, so preference is for GROOM D'OUDAIRIES. Beaten just half a length over shorter on his last visit to this track, Christian Williams' charge could improve for the bigger stamina test on offer here.
GROOM D'OUDAIRIES has been shaping up well and this represents a drop in class, so he's a confident selection to get the better of You Name Him, who hinted at a revival last time. The selection's stablemate, Rose Kar, is worthy of interest if the market speaks in his favour.
