A few of these come into this badly out of form and it should pay to stick with recent winner LAYLA'S DANCER, who has been in really good heart of late and was always in command when running out a convincing victor over this C&D last time. Still appearing feasibly treated, he can prove too strong for Jezza who himself has been in fine form of late having only narrowly missed on the four-timer at Wolverhampton last time. He should make his mark again with Suntrap capable of better than he showed last time.
Not many come here in form and Layla's Dancer, who is proven at the track, is marginally preferred to Jezza.

ARCTIC LYNX continues to improve and made it two C&D wins on the bounce when registering another comfortable success last month, appearing to score with plenty up his sleeve. Always held in some regard by local trainer John Best, the One Cool Cat gelding had the reopposing Waabel behind when winning a couple of starts of ago and although he meets that rival on worse terms today, he is expected to confirm the form. The latter has gone on to collect since so is fancied to be closely involved again, along with another recent winner, Qadar, and Waterloo Duck.
Arctic Lynx has an altogether more progressive profile than most of his rivals and looks the one to side with from an inside berth. Waabel has been less fortunate with the draw but needs consideration, along with a revitalised Qadar.

Riot Place certainly has the ability to win one of these but he has disappointed under pressure on more than one occasion now and expect Jamie Spencer to play his hand as late as possible today. He should not be overlooked but is hard to put forward with any real confidence and a much more solid option comes in the shape of JACOBS SON, who has some decent form to his name having finished fourth in each of his last four career starts, the most recent of which came over 1m at Windsor back in October. This step up to 1m4f is a slight unknown but he appeared to be crying out for the extra distance last time and is bred to stay well enough. Monster Munchie caught the eye on debut here while it would come as no surprise to see Halifax improve from his modest Kempton opener.
Jacobs Son sets the standard but he's had several chances, and it remains to be seen if he'll benefit from this much longer trip. The once-raced Monster Munchie is therefore selected instead, with the frustrating Riot Police probably having to settle for minor honours again.

ANGEL'S PURSUIT wasn't disgraced on his return to Listed company last time and very much hinted this drop back in trip would be ideal. Richard Hannon's colt remains open to further improvement on the all-weather and looks the most likely winner. Duff finished ahead of the selection that day but his running style means he is always likely to prove vulnerable in the finish at a track like this so Brave Prospector and Five Star Junior look to pose greater threats. The former returned to the winner's enclosure at Wolverhampton last time while the latter is a model of consistency and looks well worth another try at this level.
Quite a few attempt to make the step up from handicaps, but it's probably best to stick with the proven listed performers. Narrow preference is for Angel's Pursuit over Duff and Hitchens.

There is no shortage of pace in the field here and that should suit EVEN BOLDER, who wasn't suited by the way the race unfolded here last time and should be finishing with a late rattle. Eric Wheeler's charge has been eased 1lb in the weights and is more than capable of making his presence felt off this mark. Go Nani Go returns from a break but remains capable of better and must be considered. Billy Red can take a lead if required and such tactical versatility could prove very useful in an interesting contest.
Sir Geoffrey and a couple of others will ensure this is run at a good clip, and they could well set things up for Even Bolder.

Suits is as game as they come and ran another respectable race when third to Lowther at Wolverhampton last time. Tom Tate's gelding will do his level best to dominate the field but he may prove vulnerable in the finish and LAYLINE gets the vote after landing a competitive handicap over C&D when last sighted. Baylini was back in third that day but the margins were minuscule and it wouldn't be the greatest surprise if she reversed the form off 4lb better terms. Shamir has a little to find at the weights but is unexposed at the trip and is capable of running a race at a price.

TITAN TRIUMPH and Blue Moon dead-heated over C&D last month and reoppose on identical terms, but the former looked a little unlucky not to score here last weekend and gets marginal preference as he remains very well treated on his best form. Buaiteoir wasn't far behind the aforementioned pair when last sighted, continues to progress and shouldn't be far away either. Mister Green was turned over here last weekend but will appreciate the return to this shorter trip and is considered, along with the well handicapped Lockantanks.
Lockantanks has been in good form for his current stable and couldn't have gone much closer at Kempton last weekend. Titan Triumph and Young Dottie could push him closest in quite a competitive heat.
