BRIDGE didn't appear to get home when tried over a longer trip at Fontwell last month and the six-year-old, who was just touched off at the same track the time before, has been found a suitable opportunity to get his head in front. Raffles Nobu has to be considered dropping back in trip after his latest fourth here, while Tommy Dillion completes the shortlist.
RAFFLES NOBU was trained in France in his early days but never fulfilled his potential after joning Nicky Henderson. He's slipped in the weights and has slowly found his level for his new yard and his recent run here, over a longer trip in reapplied headgear, suggested today's drop in trip could suit him ideally on soft ground. He can prove too strong for Bridge, who may have bounced last time but is respected on the form of his penultimate Fontwell run. Ask Peter is respected also if pulling out again after Tuesday's improved third at Taunton.

BIG TICKET had a valid excuse when pulled up at Ascot in December having suffered an overreach on that occasion. The five-year-old is much better judged on his two efforts prior, when runner-up at Aintree and at the Berkshire venue, and he is taken to strike at the fourth time of asking. Matthias appears the main danger following his third at Chepstow. Dropematthestation is best of the remainder.
Big Ticket holds the strongest form claims but he's shown his best on a sound surface, pulling up on soft last time, and he was a non-runner on a similar surface at Ascot just before Christmas. Due to ground concerns it might be worth taking a chance on MATTHIAS, who showed plenty in bumpers in 2023 befor having to miss all of 2024. His hurdles debut, when third behind two useful sorts at Chepstow in December, was full of promise and he should come on plenty for that run, with his yard in fine form. Dropematthestation is surely capable of better as well, being from a good yard and having run well behind a smart sort on his hurdles debut at Warwick.

LARGY GO was purchased for 305,000 pounds at the Goffs Aintree sale in April following a point-to-point success and the five-year-old makes plenty of appeal on his Rules debut. West Along ran with plenty of credit when forcing a dead-heat for second in a Fontwell bumper on Boxing Day and is of interest on his hurdling bow, while any market support for newcomer Felix Maximus should be noted.
The juvenile Love You Back shaped well on his hurdles debut at Warwick and, having handled cut on the Flat, he should be fine on the going, but LARGY GO created a good impression when making a winning debut in a maiden point back in March and is taken to get off to a winning start undr rules also. He'll want further than 2m in time but conditions should bring stamina into play. West Along made a promising bumper debut at Fontwell and, having shaped well in a pair of points, should improve now hurdling.

With most of these having questions to answer, it is very hard to oppose OFFICER OF STATE. The seven-year-old has won two of his last three starts and that includes an impressive Windsor success last time. A 6lb rise for that win should be workable and he clearly gets the vote ahead of Big City Roller, who needs to improve on his seasonal debut last month. Sherborne edges out Koenigsstern to be next best.
Big City Roller ran well for a long way on his return from 11 months off at Exeter, a significant late mistake costing him ground, and he's entitled to come on plenty for that outing, but OFFICER OF STATE went through the testing ground with ach when getting off the mark at the second attempt over fences at Windsor three weeks ago and a 6lb rise may understimate him. Sherborne is beest of the other two but needs more than of late if he's to get his head in front for the first time since April.

Osterberg got off the mark at Ffos Las last month and has to be respected as a result. That said, the strength of that form can be questioned so preference is for ATLANTIC POWER, who showed much more when second at Fontwell on Boxing Day and he is off a 1lb lower mark here. A better run can be expected from Hot Rod Lincoln after his seasonal return in December.
Getaway With You has been on a consistent run of form since November, winning three times, but his recent efforts in defeat suggest the handicapper has his number now. As a result the progressive OSTERBERG looks the one to be with. He got off the mark on deep ground at Ffos Las last time and looks capable of defying a 6lb rise. Hot Rod Lincoln could bounce back to form in a new headgear combo with him possibly needing his return run over C&D.

EL ROJO GRANDE racked up a double when scoring over 2m at Ffos Las last week and, given that he does not have to carry a penalty for that win, the nine-year-old is very hard to oppose now bidding for a hat-trick. The rest do not inspire much confidence at all, but Bobbi's Beauty and Angel's Dream are the pick of them.
EL ROJO GRANDE should land the hat-trick given the form he's in, winning with a bit in hand at Ffos Las last week on similarly deep ground. He's getting plenty of weight off main rival Bobbi's Beauty, who likes it here and handles the ground but needs to dominate to be seen at her best. She's the danger, ahead of Angel's Dream, a past C&D winner now 3lb below her last win mark.
