ILMIG was a touch disappointing last time but may be worth another chance here on better ground. He didn't find a lot when beaten at a short price in Fairyhouse just over two weeks ago but had shaped with promise at Punchestown, also on testing ground, previously. The Galileo gelding looked a nice prospect when winning a hot Flat maiden at Navan and should be capable of better than his last showing. Dark Voyager was behind the selection at Punchestown and he had disappointed himself that day having been a short priced favourite. The form of his second to Zanahiyr at Ballinrobe reads well and he has to be respected if coming back to that. Loved Out was well supported when runner-up to Alexei Vronsky at Punchestown last month and looks another that has to come into calculations in an open affair.

Top Tip: Ilmig (12)
Watch out for: Dark Voyager (5)

FLYING SCOTSMAN caught the eye when third at Cork last time and is taken to improve again and provide Joseph O'Brien with a second winner in this race in the last 3 years. Dark Voyager was a shade disappointing last time but remains with potential for his top stable. Ilmig is another who can figure if a lesser run last time is forgiven, while Coltor and Iberia are newcomers to note in the betting.

All eyes here will be on KLASSICAL DREAM as the 2019 Supreme Novice Hurdle winner makes his first outing over fences. The Dream Well gelding went into last season as a live Champion Hurdle hope but disappointed on both outings, including when a bad mistake ended his chances in the Matheson Hurdle here 12 months ago. He has reportedly been showing more respect for fences at home and connections will be hoping he can take high order in the two mile novice division. January Jets has experience under his belt and a decent chase rating of 137. He chased home Envoi Allen first time before a solid run to finish third to Janidil at Naas and should be thereabouts again. Defi Bleu was third on his chase debut behind Blackbow, in Navan, and if he steps forward from that could also be involved at the business end.

It's hard to oppose CHACUN POUR SOI who should have benefitted from his seasonal debut at Cork three weeks ago. He was obviously turned over in this last year but connections felt he needed the run and made sure to get him out a bit earlier this campaign. His defeat of Min at the Dublin Racing Festival last February was a terrific performance and marked him out as the best two-miler in Ireland. Notebook, a dual Grade 1 winner here as a novice, looks the obvious danger. He was good when making a winning return at Naas but needs to step up again here in Grade 1 open company. Last year's Arkle winner Put The Kettle On has been rerouted here. She is a terrific mare in her own right but like her stablemate this is a real acid test now against a potential star performer in the division.

Watch out for: Notebook (5)

A good quality field but the two at the top look the pair to concentrate on. The vote goes to BALLYADAM who impressed when running out a cosy winner of the Grade 1 Royal Bond at Fairyhouse last month. For a former point-to-pointer he showed a nice turn of foot to put the race to bed then after what looked like only a steady gallop early on. He has two runs over timber now and the experience at this level may just give him the edge over Appreciate It. Last year's Cheltenham bumper runner-up was also a cosy winner when making his hurdling debut at Cork but was obviously expected to do that as a 1/12 shot. This is a much sterner test now on his second outing over timber. Of the others Call Me Lyreen hasn't done anything wrong to date and was a Grade 2 winner at Naas last month. He needs to step forward again in this company though.

Watch out for: Appreciate It (1)

A bumper winner at Downpatrick in March, BALLYADAM is clearly a smart prospect, doubling his hurdles tally when landing the Grade 1 Royal Bond Hurdle at Fairyhouse 4 weeks ago. There's room for improvement in his jumping but he can maintain his 100% record over timber and make it 3-3. Appreciate It is of a very similar ilk and is highly respected, ahead of Call Me Lyreen and Fire Attack.

Individual Race Printouts

HYBERY ran very well in a hot handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last month and looks capable of landing a prize like this off just a 1lb higher mark. The French-bred didn't get the cleanest of jumps two from home when also slightly impeded by a faller. He finished off well when fourth to Advanced Virgo. Winner Takes Itall is a talented sort on his day and comes into this off the back of an easy win at Dundalk last month. He is 3lb higher than his last run over timber, when chasing home Rebel Gold at Punchestown, and Mark Walsh takes the mount on him from the six JP McManus runners. You Raised Me Up ran well to finish third in the Ladbrokes Hurdle here back in February and is another to consider. He returned this year at Listowel when winning his maiden and could be open to some more improvement this season.

Another wide-open looking renewal of this race and in a contest where stamina often tells at the end CAPTAIN CJ may prove the pick. Dermot McLoughlin's charge was a touch disappointing on his seasonal debut at Cork but ran much better in the Porterstown at Fairyhouse last month. He ran on strongly on the run-in then, over three-miles-five, and in a race where there is always plenty of pace he could be finishing best at the business end here. Gordon Elliott has won two of the last four runnings and saddles five this time as well as having two of the reserves. Last year's winner Roaring Bull was pulled up at Fairyhouse but would have a chance if bouncing back to form. The novice Run Wild Fred could be interesting off a low weight. His first couple of runs over fences were good but he has been well beaten in two starts since. Connections try cheekpieces now. Paul Townend sides with Castlebawn West from a trio of Willie Mullins runners. He ran a nice race over 2m4f on his return at Punchestown and stepping up in trip now should suit.
