ESPOIR D'ALLEN has done little wrong in his unbeaten five-race career so far and Gavin Cromwell's exciting juvenile has already accounted for most of the opposition here today when landing the Grade Two Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle at Christmas. Farclas and Mitchouka gave him most to think about that day and could be capable of improvement, though, the main danger may come from Mr Adjudicator who won a maiden hurdle over course and distance in style over the festive period and is highly regarded by connections.
ESPOIR D'ALLEN looks very much the standout performer in this division in Ireland so far this season and can record his first Grade 1. Farclas was an excellent second behind the selection on hurdling debut here on Boxing Day and can pose the biggest threat again.

It is interesting that connections have opted for this Grade One with the unbeaten SAMCRO and the top class son of Germany faces his toughest opposition to date as he looks to book his ticket to Cheltenham in March. The ante-post favourite the Ballymore Novices Hurdle at the Festival will have to be at his best, but should excel in this contest which could see him jumping at speed for the first time in his short hurdles career. Champion Bumper second Debuchet should come on for his hurdles debut over christmas and is entitled to play a part, while Willie Mullins' quartet of Sharjah, Reel Steel, Duc Des Genievres and Whisky Sour must all be respected and are more than worthy of their place in this line up.
SAMCRO has looked right out of the top drawer over hurdles so far, and is taken to maintain his unbeaten record en route to the Festival. Sharjah is worthy of plenty of respect and may prove the main threat ahead of Real Steel.

This looks the strongest novice chase on paper we have seen all season with quantity and quality in abundance. Gordon Elliott has never hidden his admiration of Sutton Place who made a very favourable start to his chasing career when beating Kemboy who has won since at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day. Ground conditions are likely to be in his favour but he will need to jump better at the highest level. Monalee was a faller here over 3m at Christmas and, providing his confidence isn't dented, should go close once again. Invitation Only has left his novice hurdle form behind and is the pick of Paul Townend but his stablemate AL BOUM PHOTO makes plenty of appeal. He should have won at Limerick over Christmas but for a fall at the final fence and he remains open to further improvement over fences. The Willie Mullins third string Bon Papa will benefit from a drop back in distance having failed to get home over 3m, while Snow Falcon, Koshari, and The Storyteller all warrant respect in what could prove to be one of the most exciting races of the meeting.
INVITATION ONLY can take his seat at the top table with victory in what looks a spectacular Grade 1 full of some of the most exciting chasers in Ireland. Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott between them saddle all bar 2 of the runners but Monalee for Henry de Bromhead looks a key player. Sutton Place wasn't spectacular at Fairyhouse last month but looks sure to progress in this sphere.

Jessica Harrington used this race as a springboard for Sizing John 12 months ago to propel him into the Gold Cup picture in which he duly obliged and OUR DUKE bids to complete the double. The Irish National winner was bitterly disappointing on his return at Down Royal but he returned a poor scope post-race and was sent for surgery on his back. That effort underlined his toughness for the most part as he tried valiantly to keep in touch with the principals despite not looking at ease from an early stage and that could also be to his advantage as he comes here fresher than most. Anibale Fly arrives having produced a career best effort over fences in the Paddy Power Chase but will need another step up here along with Killultagh Vic who returned with a hurdles success at Punchestown but that was after nearly two years off the track and there is every chance he could regress from that effort. Outlander (3rd), Minella Rocco (4th) and Valseur Lido (5th) ran with respect in the Christmas Chase over C&D but the main threat of that trio looks the latter as he was entitled to have benefited from the run and he looks capable of reaching a fairly high level again.
OUR DUKE can't have been right on his Down Royal return and is worth another chance as he'd looked set for the top this term when hacking up in the Irish National last spring. Outlander bounced straight back from a blip in the Betfair when third here over Christmas and should go well again, while Anibale Fly is well worth his place at this level after his Paddy Power win here last time.

Hell's Kitchen is a rare contender from the UK this weekend but has an unexposed profile and the form of his Kempton success has worked out well with the runner-up winning at Cheltenham last week. That said, his free going nature around Leopardstown could prove to be an issue and he will need to settle a lot more than he has in the past. Vieux Morvan ran well on his Irish debut for Joseph O'Brien when fifth to Anibale Fly in the Paddy Power Chase when not quite seeing out the trip and he can prove to be competitive off the same mark but the vote goes to POLIDAM as he was a blatant non-stayer in the same contest and he had looked impressive the time before when disposing of stablemate Acapella Bourgeois at Navan over 2m4f. De Benno, Coeur Joyeux, and Jett all have the scope for improvement to put themselves in the mix.
HELL'S KITCHEN has always had plenty of potential and finally lived up to expectations last time with a cosy front-running win at Kempton. If he can get a soft lead he can repeat that victory here from Polidam who will be a lot happier dropped to this trip, though Gwencily Berbas could also have a say at these weights.

COLREEVY created a very favourable impression when winning comfortably on Rules debut at Fairyhouse just before Christmas by three and a quarter lengths. She looks open to further improvement in the bumper sphere and could be Willie Mullins' number one mare this season. Lady Ischia ran a lot better when runner-up to the classy Rapid Escape at Navan in a Listed contest and should go close once again along with Cordovan Brown, who finished second to Crackerdancer at the same track in November.
COLREEVY justified her tall reputation at Fairyhouse on debut and can find the required improvement to beat Cordovan Brown and Motown Girl.
