LONDONER ran a nice race at Navan. Out of Prix de l'Abbaye winner Gilt Edge Girl, he shaped like a stayer on debut, has proven himself on soft ground and progression can be expected. Stablemate Water Nymph, also by Saxon Warrior, is out of a half-sister to High Chaparral, is closely related to a Group 1 winner and a half-sister to six other smart winners. However she debuts at a tight track against some experienced colts. Rubio Draco showed improvement on his second run at the Curragh but probably needs to show more to win. Genuine Article is the first foal from a Listed-placed, well-bred dam while Right Now is a sibling to three winners, including one at Listed level. Colin Keane rides E50,000 yearling Base Money, a half-brother to a winner, but is already gelded. Gunsight ran a nice race on debut over course and distance.

CLEMMIE C is useful and ran well at Dundalk (the runner-up won subsequently) and, although not looking entirely straightforward in the closing stages, she is fancied dropping in distance. Lizzy's Filly has form on soft at this distance and, while she is consistent, she is very much respected in this maiden. Champagne has soft ground form but drops to this distance for the first time, while Zawahir similarly goes on soft, with the form of her Tramore placing in August working out well, but also drops in distance. Verlinga's smart half-sister won well on Thursday and having been found to have mucus in her trachea post-race on debut, should leave that form well behind. Blazing Skies needs to improve in first-time cheekpieces.

YOKKELL gained a deserved breakthrough success on good ground at Tipperary in August but showed that she handled soft when third over C&D just over a week ago. The daughter of Fast Company was certainly unlucky not to finish closer on that occasion as Jamie Powell couldn't find daylight on her until it was too late and this consistent performer seems to still be on a mark off which she can win. High Altitude is a standing dish at Killarney and four of his five wins have come over C&D. Runner-up here off this mark in July, he was only beaten a little over two lengths on his latest visit to this scenic venue and should again give a good account. Dragon Roll had been running into a bit of form before winning well at Dundalk on Friday night. She has some fair form on easy ground and merits respect under her 7lb penalty.

WAY TO WIN was a wide margin juvenile winner on soft ground when trained in Britain. He found himself badly handicapped as a result but now seems on a competitive mark judged on his third run for current connections at Listowel. The three-year-old found only Run For Jewels too strong over a mile and that progressive rival was winning for the third time in five starts. The gelded son of The Gurkha again showed his aptitude for handling testing conditions on that latest outing and can go well here under Bill Lee. Angel's Trumpet was a C&D winner on soft ground last season and enjoyed back-to-back victories at Gowran Park in early summer. There was little wrong with his latest second over 7f at Galway and stepping back up to this trip will suit. First-time blinkers worked for Drish Melody over C&D earlier this month but a 9lb rise makes life harder while Carlton Banks has dropped appreciably in the ratings and is interesting trying a mile for the first time with headgear added.

FORGETMENOTBLUE had a couple of good placed efforts on soft ground earlier in the year including when second over slightly farther than this distance at Roscommon in May. After nearly three months off, she may have needed the run at Down Royal last month when shaping well in fifth behind two subsequent winners and Dermot Weld's daughter of Pivotal can go well back in her own age group with that outing under her belt. Topweight Apologise has a fair burden to defy but came home well when fourth in a maiden here on soft ground and stepping back up in trip from 1m should suit the son of Fascinating Rock. Fellow handicap debutant Zebos Beanos left her moderate maiden form well behind when a big-priced third in her first handicap at Bellewstown and has definite claims if building on that. Chutzpal is held by the selection on Down Royal form but wasn't beaten far at Navan last week and is still unexposed.

VOCAL QUEEN came from the clouds to finish a never nearer fourth at Navan recently and the step-up in trip here may prove ideal. Slow into stride at Proudstown Park, the Vocalised seven-year-old raced in rear for much of the contest before finishing with a flourish. Surprisingly she was dropped 2lb for that effort and races here off a mark of 45, with young apprentice Orla McKenna taking 10lb off. Quirky but talented, Itsalonglongroad is given second preference. The versatile eight-year-old recorded an eighth career success at Thurles on Thursday and it'll come as no surprise if he manages to quickly follow-up. Amlad was a good fourth of 16 at Bellewstown on his most recent start and should go close with Jack Kearney claiming a valuable 7lb. Handicap debutant Elle Dorado Rock is an interesting contender for Tony Martin, while Mr Mills, Noble Crusade and Tipperary winner Spring Morning are other leading hopes.
