BERT THE ALERT left behind some wayward turf efforts when returning to the winner's enclosure over this trip at Lingfield last week. Gary Moore's charge shoulders a penalty but has evidently returned to this sphere in good heart and a follow up may thus be on the cards. Bold Cross ran on for second at Wolverhampton last time and could appreciate this extra yardage, likewise Barton Bounty, who scored over the extended 1m1f at the same venue latest and doesn't look handicapped out of this off 3lb higher.

Secretinthepark made a winning debut over this trip in a Warwick maiden in August and there is likely better to come from the least exposed runner in the race. Preference, however, is for polytrack specialist CAPPADOCIA, who has won two of her three starts in all-weather handicaps and stayed this trip well enough when second at Wolverhampton earlier in the month. Dashing David is respected now dropped in grade and could feasibly leave behind his latest running, when bringing up the rear in a Listed field at Doncaster.
