RUBAUD has left behind his sole juvenile outing over hurdles in the Dovecote with two comfortable victories at Taunton. Paul Nicholls' gelding has made all on both occasions and it would be no surprise to see similar tactics used once again. Rare Edition won nicely under a penalty at Doncaster last month and is capable of another strong display, while Mamoon Star and Throne Hall are others likely to enter the reckoning.

Champ (first) and Paisley Park (second) served up a treat in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on their return to action last month, with the former just holding on by a neck. The pair are both entitled to plenty of respect, but they may prove to be vulnerable following a hard race and the vote goes to GOSHEN. He returned to winning ways at Ascot last month following a spin over fences at the same track and has always threatened to be suited by a step up to 3m. Miranda produced a career-best effort over C&D against her own sex last time, but this is undoubtedly a much stiffer assignment.

MCFABULOUS has taken well to chasing and jumped particularly well when proving too strong for Thyme Hill and Mortlach, who both reoppose, at Newbury last month. His trainer has expressed the opinion that he believes the eight-year-old is better going right-handed and this appears to be the perfect opportunity for him to earn his first Grade 1 victory. Thyme Hill was the best of these over hurdles and had jumped fine on his chasing bow at Exeter. However, he was more ponderous at Newbury and will need to be sharper on this occasion. Gelino Bello, a stable companion of the selection, will need to step up plenty on what he has achieved to date over fences, while Galia Des Liteaux wouldn't be one to ignore following her chase debut success at Bangor.

This has all the makings of another procession for CONSTITUTION HILL, following an imperious display on his return in the Fighting Fifth. Nicky Henderson's superstar has been in a different league to his rivals ever since he burst on the scene last December and he can take this en route to the Champion Hurdle. It is difficult to see how his stablemate Epatante can make up 12 lengths from that Newcastle contest, though she has won this contest in two of the last three years, so deserves respect. Veteran Sceau Royal is another to keep an eye on.
