Moab failed to justify favouritism when only third at Ffos Las but was dropped 2lb and could get closer. Mount Olympus sports a first-time visor and needs considering, but GOLDEN DOVE gets the vote. Dan Horsford's mare occupied the runner-up berth at Lingfield in April and is just 1lb higher. If the seven-year-old is in similar form, she could be the one to beat.
Uzincso should go close in a bid for CD double, and given he's rated higher in the past could find a bit more. John Butler's gelding is not the most consistent but has gone well the last three times, all over CD and shouldn't be far away off a 4lb rise. However, the value call could be MOUNT OLYMPUS who has found his level again and has gone well on three of four runs here. He's 3lb below his last winning mark and is entitled to go close. Brigid's Well took a sizeable step forward to shed her maiden tag at the second time of asking at Thirsk last month and is respected under her penalty. However, I CAN DANCE has only found one too good in both of his starts, most recently in heavy conditions at Goodwood. The son of Bated Breath looks to have found a suitable opportunity to record his first career success. Any market confidence behind newcomer See Blue would be interesting.
I CAN DANCE stands out and sets the bar pretty high. Second on both runs, under very different conditions, Charlie Johnston's colt can go one better and open his account on third start. Glenna has shown a similar level of form on both runs, including on debut here over 7f when finishing strongly when the penny dropped, but can find a bit more to challenge and is second choice, just ahead of Brigid's Well who took a substantial step forward from a modest debut to land a fair novice in late August when last seen in action. The newcomers are probably up against it but Michael Bell's Cixi, in particular, needs watching in the market

Midsummer Music regained the winning thread at Chepstow on her most recent start and holds an obvious chance, but it may pay to side with SUZUKA. Roger Varian's filly took a fierce hold when making the frame at Lingfield earlier in the month and was kindly dropped 1lb. If settling better on this occasion, she will prove hard to beat. Live Each Day is another to consider.
The one to make most appeal in an open race is MIDSUMMER MUSIC, a winner at Chepstow last time in a class 6 handicap. She's 2lb higher today but rated a fair bit higher last year and the win came on just her second run of the summer having been off since January prior to that. Notably her last run of 2024 was a winning one, a class 5 h'cap over CD. There should be more to come from Roger Teal's mare and she can take this. Suzuka has been in decent nick in three h'cap runs since early July and although still to prove the mile truly suits should put up a decent fight having been dropped another pound. She flattened out last time over a mile but was keen early employing a more aggressive tactic than she has done before and prior to that finished to good effect at a mile (ridden a bit too conservatively to see it out). She showed glimpses of greater potential early in her career and should go well. The jury is still hung regarding the suitability of this trip for Hilltop but having won two of her last four starts (both over 7f) she is greatly feared and could well reach the frame

She missed out by the narrowest of margins and the daughter of Harry Angel could prove hard to beat with the prospect of more to come. Fourth behind the selection at Southwell, Fiery Damsel will know more today and can finish much closer, while Pilgrim's Progress is related to four winners on the all-weather and is a newcomer to note.
ANGEL LOVE sets the bar and looks a solid option to take this. Kevin Phillipart De Foy's filly was touched off by a nose on debut (Fiery Damsel about five lengths behind in 4th) just losing out to a more experienced rival and can build on that. BAIKAL proved ahead of the assessor at Wolverhampton, when returning the ready winner on her winning handicap debut. Sir Mark Prescott's filly has the scope to rate higher over this longer trip and is taken to defy a 6lb rise. Kingkeer has a shout off his current mark on his second over C&D in June, while the unexposed Wine Dark Sea made a winning start in a handicaps when successful over 1m4f here and is another to consider.
Crystal Mariner is interesting having rediscovered his mojo last time with a narrow second and went well here over 1m4f in December off a higher mark than today. However, he could be vulnerable to a couple of much less exposed types, BAIKAL and Wine Dark Sea. Both a winner last time on fourth start and on handicap debut and with plenty of scope for more. Several have been in the mix of late and could feature again, including Southwell third Philanthropist. Storm Free placed at Newcastle last time and an apprentice's allowance helps his cause, but another chance goes to RAJAKING. Stuart Williams' inmate found plenty for pressure in the closing stages over 6f at Newmarket when missing out by only a neck, and he looks well worth another try over this extra furlong on that evidence.
STORM FREE is fancied to take this on second handicap start. James Tate's colt was a fine third of 14 making his handicap debut last time at Newcastle and off the same mark eased in grade has a good opportunity to gain a second career win having gone close here over 6f on second start. Marquis Pompeo is a serious danger if getting back to the level shown when landing a maiden on penultimate run at Wolverhampton. He was disappointing over CD on handicap debut earlier this month but wasn't suited by a steady pace then and can do better granted a stronger one here, as seems likely. Dixieland Blues has struggled in three handicap runs but he's been weak in the finish over a mile and the drop back to 7f could spark a revival. He's well-treated on the pick of novice/maiden form and has been given a chance by the assessor with another 2lb drop

ONE MORE got up late on to get off the mark over C&D on his first start in 10 months to beat an odds-on favourite, and if he improves for the experience he can go well once more off a mark of 84. Mcmanaman has been out of form recently but drops in class and has placed in better races off higher marks, though Southwell winner Stanley Spencer has stronger claims for second.
ONE MORE, a winner over CD last time, must have a cracking chance to double up on handicap debut off a more than workable opening mark. The form of his novice win has been franked by those around him since and Richard Hannon's gelding holds the best hand. The ultra-consistent This Farh is a threat again but the The Quiet Gent is feared more given he went so well over CD (second) his only try beyond 6f on penultimate run and looks as if this trip could prove ideal. His only win came here over 6f in December and a bold run looks on the cards

Chifa has won six times on the all-weather over this trip and deserves a second look off this mark. Although sixth at Ffos Las last month, he was only beaten two and a half lengths off 2lb higher. ROCKSTAR ICON travelled well in a better race at Brighton before finishing fourth last week and first-time cheekpieces may see him make the most of the easier opportunity, while Jazzit could surprise a few off a rating of 60 on his handicap debut.
With little to choose between a whole host of the field it could be worth chancing CHIFA at likely big odds to cause a bit of an upset. He showed a bit more last time after two dismal efforts and is now 2lb lower than his last wining mark of 65, over CD. Mbappe is perhaps a more solid alternative having bounced back to form on fourth start this year after three miserable efforts prior. David Loughnane's gelding, a CD winner, is 2lb below his last wining mark and is very dangerous if in the same mood. Dollyana is finding it tough to get her head back in front but has been pretty consistent of late and has found her level again. She went well here when placed over a mile on penultimate run and last time went close dropped back to 7f for the first time in a while

Sean Levey is back on board Initial Blue, who is beginning to look well handicapped and he has to enter calculations along with Mollymook. The vote, though, goes to MUMA MYFLO following her placed effort when dropped to 5f at Newmarket last month. The extra furlong should benefit the daughter of Cracksman as she bids for her first career success.
FRIDAY AGAIN is interesting dropped back to 6f and makes some appeal in this grade off her current mark. She didn't stay 7f the last twice but before that was a fine second of 7 at Lingfield over this trip, and from a decent berth in stall four can take a step forward and shed the maiden tag. Muma Myflo, another not stay 7f, found 5f a touch too sharp last time and should appreciate the return to 6f over which she's posted her two best efforts. If taking to this surface she should be in the shake-up, along with Initial Blue who was placed in a similar event over CD in mid-August and has plenty of scope for improvement now her optimum conditions have been deduced
