The son of King's Theatre has the right profile for a contest of this nature with novices having a good record down the years with Gloria Victis (2000), La Landiere (2003), and Quinz (2011) three winning examples this century. Master Dee has had a small break since his good second to On Tour at Aintree and the step up to 3m could easily bring about improvement, while his owners also have Go Conquer, who bids to bounce back after unseating at Ascot behind Gold Present. Art Mauresque and Josses Hill were behind Waiting Patiently here over 2m4f last time but the latter warrants consideration in first-time blinkers and should stay 3m in a race of this nature, rather than the King George when last behind Thistlecrack. A return to a sounder surface should suit KAYF BLANCO, who was smashed into favouritism at Wetherby last time when coming out worst of a three-way battle at the finish. Only a 2lb rise for that is fair and he has winning course form here over hurdles. No Ceiling was impressive at Doncaster but this is tougher and he may be better over shorter. Therefore the main opposition could come from Jonjo O'Neill's I'dliketheoption, who faltered in Listed company last time but was a handy winner the time before and this is easier than his latest assignment.
