BANTA BAY raced widest of all down the straight at Chelmsford when third six days ago and is interesting turned out again so quickly by connections. The three-year-old could still be fairly treated off a mark of 50 and this step up in distance looks a shrewd move by John Best. Binky Blue has had plenty of chances to strike and is in danger of becoming disappointing, while the unexposed Thechampagnesonice is of interest on her handicap bow for a yard in excellent form.

This contest could go to the northern raider FIKHAAR, who makes the trip south from Kevin Ryan's Yorkshire base once again in an attempt to follow up her Chelmsford triumph. She has only been raised 4lb for that victory and the switch to synthetic surfaces has seemed to be the making of the Oasis Dream filly on her last few starts. Exquisite Ruby has to be respected with Champion jockey elect Silvestre De Sousa in the plate, while Atlanta Belle was sent off a warm favourite when looking to back up her course and distance win last time and is another who needs serious consideration.
