Dual winner Art Broker must be accorded respect following a commanding Sedgefield win last time out but he may struggle to concede a stone in weight to NEW CODE. He left the form of his hurdling debut run firmly behind when third at Plumpton last month and there should be more to come. C&D maiden scorer Bullet Man came up short when only sixth under the 5lb penalty at Market Rasen, so perhaps Flat recruit The Fonz will pose the principals more problems.
The Fonz and Perpetually are a couple of interesting recruits from the Flat, but New Code, Bullet Man and Art Broker set a fair standard and their experience could prove decisive, Gary Moore's New Code given the nod after a promising third at Plumpton last time.

WAKE BOARD returned to winning ways in fortunate circumstances (left in front four out) at Worcester last month but it will have at least done his confidence the power of good and the return to 2m4f is in his favour this afternoon. Max Bygraves is back on a fair mark but it's more than a shade worrying that he was pulled up on his two latest public appearances earlier in the year. Songe and Kikos know what's required over this C&D and the former is preferred of the two.
Back from a similar break Songe bolted up in this race last year, and he's capable of staging a repeat if a breathing operation has solved his problems. I'm A Legend looked to be returning to form last time and is dangerously handicapped himself.

Strong market support for one of the jumps newcomers, especially Brian Ellison's Artisan or the Robert Mills-trained Buxfizz, would have to be taken seriously but ALFRAAMSEY sets a decent standard and might be able to defy a weight penalty. Sheena West's recruit wasn't anything special on the Flat but he shaped well in his first three starts over jumps before readily getting off the mark at Plumpton last month. The manner of that success suggested there was plenty more to come.
Artisan and Buxfizz make the most appeal of the jumping newcomers, but Alfraamsey has taken very well to hurdling and can put his experience to good use again.

AUSTRALIA DAY is a very interesting recruit to chasing and could take all the beating. A Listed winner over timber and rated 157 in the sphere at his best, Paul Webber's charge failed to fire in two Flat and one hurdle start this summer but the switch to fences could help rejuvenate him and he should prove too hot for today's rivals if taking to larger obstacles. Pullyourfingerout opened his chase account at the first attempt over 2m at Worcester and looks the likely beneficiary if the selection fluffs his lines. Market support for chasing debutants Kaolak or Ultimate would be worth noting.
Australia Day possesses the physique for fences and is very much the class act on his best form, but his recent efforts have been uninspiring, so recent chase winner Pullyourfingerout is selected instead. Ultimate is another interesting one now tackling larger obstacles, the test of speed right up his street.

Teshali arrives on the back a victory in a novices' event but is now 4lb higher than for his two seconds previously and may just come up short again as he reverts to handicap company. LIEUTENANT MILLER flopped on his handicap bow at Perth in August but impressed when landing a fast-ground novice hurdle at Newton Abbot the time before and looks worth another chance now back on a sound surface. Royal Max didn't take to fences this summer but returns to hurdles off a feasible mark and must be considered.
Teshali is building up a pretty decent record over hurdles and is preferred to Mohanad, who is much better than he showed at Newton Abbot last month (run well back on Flat since). Cool Strike has yet to show his true colours over hurdles, but it's still early days and he's one to note in the betting on his return to action.

SAFE INVESTMENT could be just that in the finale. Lawney Hill's gelding, who landed a double in July, has come down 2lb in the ratings for a solid fourth in a higher grade at Newton Abbot last time out and looks sure to go well as he drop in class today. Iris's Flyer found only one too good in a selling handicap latest but was well beaten and the biggest danger could be Upper Deck, who was beaten just over three lengths off this mark over slightly shorter at Hereford on his penultimate start.
Safe Investment looks to have been found a good opportunity to get back to winning ways. Upper Deck would be a threat if seeing out the longer trip, but Moon Melody is perhaps a better bet for the forecast.
