Individual Race Printouts

Piment D'estruval was running to a high level of consistency last year and is entitled to strip fitter for his recent chase outing at Ffos Las - his first start since September. However, Tim Vaughan's charge would likely have to play second fiddle to KAOLAK on these terms if the selection runs to a similar level of form as when landing a novice event at Musselburgh last year. The eased-in-grade Humbel Ben makes most appeal of the remainder.

It's hard to know what Humble Ben and Kaolak are capable of at present, so Piment d'Estruval looks by far the most solid option down in grade.

A race that probably revolves around BYGONES OF BRID and whether he can translate his hurdles form - which included a Grade 2 win at Kelso as a novice - to the larger obstacles. Karen McLintock's 10-year-old ran over fences here in 2010 and pulled-up but rates the one to beat if at his best. Rudemeister usually gives his running and looks the safest option for the placepot, though a big run from Monogram, a C&D hurdles winner, isn't out of the question either.

Watch out for: Rudemeister (8)

Bygones of Brid isn't built to excel over fences, but he was a very useful hurdler at his peak, and may well outclass these if translating a chunk of that ability to the larger obstacles. Rudemeister is the obvious danger.

ALMOND COURT is 5lb higher than when beaten by under a length over C&D in April and is entitled to be thereabouts if building on her latest hurdles effort over 3m here last month. Cloudy Dawn disappointed when sent off 5-2 favourite at Kelso latest but a subsequent 3lb drop puts him only 1lb higher than when scoring over C&D in 2011. The pick of the remainder looks to be Irish raider Oscar Leney, whose last run over 3m1f resulted in victory at Southwell in November.

MONTEFELTRO is a half-brother to German Derby winner Buzzword and although he was restricted to just two outings on the level for Godolphin last year, latterly second to the well-regarded Eshtibaak at Nottingham, he has already struck over timber, scoring by a wide margin at Fontwell last month despite racing keenly and blundering at several flights. Last-time-out winners Overpriced and Foxcub can give him most to think about.

Watch out for: Overpriced (1)

AKDAM, who struck on the level over 1m4f at Wolverhampton in March, is given a tentative vote. The main danger could be Lindenhurst, who is a half-brother to hurdles winner Bogside Theatre, while a big run from Luv U Whatever, who scored over 1m3f on the fibresand at Southwell last month, would also come as no surprise.

KAI BROON returned to form when second over 2m at Perth last month and should remain competitive even after a subsequent 3lb rise. Lucinda Russell's six-year-old replaces cheekpieces with a first-time visor and the changed of headgear entitles him to improve. My Idea is better than he showed when unseating his rider early at Kelso last time but the main danger is Sleep In First, who scored by 10 lengths over C&D off 13lb lower in April.

A tight handicap. My Idea is potentially well treated based on his hurdling form and might be worth chancing. Sleep In First has thrived in recent months and gets the vote for the forecast spot.
