MISTER FIZZ won a Goodwood handicap at the start of the month, before falling short at York, and with an ease in the weights and a slight drop in class, he looks capable of recording his second career success. Dark Ruler found only one too good in a big-field handicap at Newcastle last time and that looks close to a career best, so he could build on that and go close again here. Precision Strike arrives fresh from an all-weather success and is worth a market check.

Watch out for: Dark Ruler (5)

A chance is taken on Berkeley Street who suggested a step up in trip was in order when second at Lingfield last time and who is open to improvement now handicapping. Dark Ruler returned to form at Newcastle last time and should pose the most significant threat.

SPORTING GOLD got off the mark on polytrack at the start of the year and, on his handicap reappearance for a yard that is coming into a bit of form, he looks the one to side with. Artful Prince hasn't looked back since blinkers were fitted and he underwent a gelding operation, winning five of his last six starts and, with more improvement not out of the question, he looks the main danger. Wolfs Breath shaped as though further would suit over 1m2f last time and she might be worth a market check on her handicap debut.

HIGH ACCOLADE, whose dam won at 6f and was a half-sister to Group-placed juvenile Illaunglass, was denied by less than a length on her debut at Salisbury and looks to have a good chance of gaining compensation. My Inspiration was bought for 80,000gns as a yearling and is entitled to improve for her debut, when she exhibited signs of greenness and can give a better account here. Feigned is an interesting newcomer as she is a half-sister to 2,000 Guineas winner Cockney Rebel, who won over 6f as a two-year-old, and could be worth a market check.

LACOCK was well supported on debut at Newbury last week when suffering all kinds of misfortune in running before finishing sixth and, turned out quickly again, he looks a prime candidate. This is Gamgoom's fourth start and he has improved with each run so far, most recently being beaten a length on polytrack, so he looks a big danger. Sherston came on for his debut to finish third under a prominent ride latest and can be on the premises again if reproducing that effort over a furlong less.

DEEDS NOT WORDS bids for a hat-trick after following up a Goodwood win with a dominant display at Bath a few weeks ago, after which connections had mooted an entry in a Listed event at Ayr. This contest was preferred and he must be considered a leading player. Secret Romance is intriguing contender on just her second start, having won her maiden in convincing fashion last month, and One Boy carries a penalty for notching up his second career success last week. Ex-bumper performer TALENTED KID made a taking Flat debut when landing a 1m maiden last month, but couldn't quite quicken when finishing runner-up on his handicap bow over 7f at Leicester. Back up in trip today, Mark Johnston's four-year-old looks worth another chance. Lady Cecil continues to fire in the winners and she saddles what appears the main danger in Magic of Reality, who just failed in her hat-trick bid off a 1lb lower mark at HQ latest but remains open to further progress. It could be dangerous to rule out Ingleby Angel, whose 3lb rise for winning at Redcar is negated by the booking of 5lb claimer David Bergin.

Watch out for: Magic of Reality (8)

Big Thunder completed a four-timer on turf when getting the better of Glenard over 1m4f at Ascot in July, but the latter turned the tables in good style when scoring over that trip here last month. Big Thunder is 9lb better off today and could have the upper hand this time, but preferred ahead of both is ESHTIAAL, who stayed on well to pip Glenard for third when the pair went close in a Ascot handicap earlier in the month. This longer trip should be more to the liking of Brian Meehan's colt.

Top Tip: Eshtiaal (2)
Watch out for: Glenard (3)

Eshtiaal and Glenard both appear to want a good gallop and should get that with both Big Thunder and Deficit liking to force the pace. With that in mind the vote goes to Eshtiaal who was an eye-catching closer at Ascot last time and looks likely to appreciate this extra 2f trip.
