Haarar rarely runs badly and is expected to play a prominent role in a tough handicap for punters to solve. The unexposed hurdlers make a bit more appeal, though, with LE YACHT fancied to build on his Doncaster success. He stayed on well to win over an extended 2m on Town Moor and stretching out in trip can ensure he remains a step ahead of the assessor. Keep Super Freddie in mind too.
LE YACHT needed every yard when a cosy winner last time and should be able to follow up off 5lb higher over this longer trip. He was previously behind Haarar but he was poorly placed in a race dominated from the front that day and he will be better suited by this extra distance. The re-opposing rival looks the biggest threat having shown a consistent level of form throughout the year though he did appear outstayed over C&D last time. North Parade is on a long losing run but he has tumbled down the weights and his latest effort is worth marking up. If allowed to dictate he will also be dangerous.

BILL JOYCE goes chasing for the first time and should take a bit of beating judged on the pick of his hurdles form, which includes a third in the Challow behind The New Lion. His form tailed off towards the end of the campaign, but he has won first time up for the last two seasons and is taken to bounce back. Ayiko and Lario will be there to pick up the pieces if the selection misfires.
BILL JOYCE failed to build on his Grade 2 win over hurdles last term but should still be able to outclass his rivals on his chase debut. That victory gives him 13lb in hand of his rivals on the ratings and this drop back in trip should suit. Ayiko was still going well when departing last time over hurdles and was progressive previously in the spring. He may prove the biggest danger on his chase debut ahead of consistent handicapper Lario who showed some of his best form in that discipline at this venue.

Milldam was beaten a long way here last month, but is entitled to have improved for that first start since March and he'll appreciate softer underfoot conditions. He could be one for the each-way player but, for win purposes, COBBLER'S BOY might be well handicapped on the back of a very impressive maiden hurdle success at Warwick earlier in the year. The in-form Saligo Bay must also be taken seriously.
MILLDAM has a terrific record when the mud is flying and is easily forgiven his reappearance run here on a quicker surface. Prior to that he had proven progressive and he is fancied to resume his improvement back in suitably conditions. The biggest dangers may be the pair at the bottom of the weights in King Ulanda and Ip Up. The former has been in good form this autumn though may find the ground on the testing side while the latter has proven consistent despite a sliding mark. She was given too much to do last time but looks weighted to strike if ridden more positively.

SUNNYVILLA won this last year for trainer Nicky Richards and he is back for more as a 10-year-old in 2025. He does have 5lb more from the handicapper this season but looks to have been primed for a repeat attempt after a fourth over C&D last month, his first start since February. If he improves for that as expected then he could prove too good for My Noble Lord, who looks interesting on just his second start over fences, with Escapeandevade the pick for third.
An open race where most of the field can be given a chance. SUNNYVILLA is the tentative selection off a mark just 5lb higher than when taking this contest last year. He was only beaten by a course specialist next time and he found the ground too quick here on his reappearance. Back on a soft surface he can get back on track and defeat Netywell who took this contest in 2023. He is on a long losing run but the handicapper has relented and he is another who will appreciate this easy surface. The steadily progressive Master Breffni should come on for his last run and should also be on the premises if his jumping holds up.

Jacks Parrot sits high in the market after a fourth over hurdles at Bangor and he has no issues with either the trip or the going. Top Of The Bill has been put up 9lb for an easy C&D win last month and warrants plenty of respect, but a chance is taken on FENLAND TIGER. Lightly raced, he ran well when second at Carlisle on his second start since February 2024 and could be coming good just at the right time.
2023 winner Famous Bridge is back on the same mark and is likely to prove popular given his fine course record. He is easily forgiven his last run where he lost his action but he could be vulnerable to a less exposed rival. O'TOOLE has had his issues but he has shown he retains his ability over hurdles and fences this year. He is potentially thrown in on his novice form and is unexposed at 3m so if building on his reappearance he could be tough to beat. Veteran My Silver Lining has returned to form in some high end handicaps recently and the handicapper has relented. She is a strong stayer with a willing attitude and could fight for a place.

SUPREME MALINAS accounted for A Path To Ronda when making a successful beginning to her hurdling career at Exeter and beat Roses All The Way to Listed honours in a Huntingdon bumper last season. She can strike at the same level in this sphere, although Jackie Hobbs forced a couple of subsequent winners to settle for minor honours on her own timber bow at Newbury and is a big threat. La Zoubida hasn't put a foot wrong over obstacles yet and will relish conditions.
JACKIE HOBBS was highly tried in bumpers before impressing when a cosy winner on her hurdles debut. That form has taken a boost since so if the ground isn't too testing she can take this step up in class in her stride. La Zoubida was behind the selection in bumpers but is unbeaten in a couple of starts over hurdles on easy ground and though the form of that race is nothing special she is respected up in class. Supreme Malinas justified strong support on her hurdles debut beating a previous winner and her bumper form is working out well. She is open to improvement for top connections and should also be thereabouts up in class.

ERNEST GRAY is now starting to fulfil his early promise and built on a Worcester second when going one better at Aintree. That race is working out well and although he encounters softer ground now, it shouldn't be a problem. Gwennie May Star stayed on stoutly to just prevail at Warwick, and conditions won't be a problem for Jalisco Star either following her recent Uttoxeter triumph. Super Survivor can step forward from his solid Windsor comeback, while Gege Ville is worth a look despite the absence.
GWENNIE MAY STAR needed every yard when making a winning stable debut and should be able to follow up off 2lb higher. He should get a decent pace to aim at and is open to further progress on his second start since a wind op. At the other end of the weights Super Survivor is of interest following a promising runner up effort last time behind a rival who has franked the form. He's gone up another couple of pounds for that but should remain competitive along with the progressive Jalisco Star who had a bit in the tank when winning last time.
