Azrael shaped encouragingly on his debut at Doncaster and is entitled to improve for that experience so he is worthy of consideration, but he could be vulnerable to any above average newcomers. Splash Point makes plenty of appeal on paper and holds a Listed entry later this season so he commands respect but Richard Fahey is having a terrific year with his juveniles and slight preference is for his son of Dansili, ADLINGTON.
Azrael was beaten less than 2 lengths by ready York winner Jaahiz on his debut at Doncaster last month and looks sure to be thereabouts if building on that run. Quite a few interesting newcomers could give him a hard time though, with Splash Point, Hobbesian War and Adlington all appealing, preference being for the well-bred Godolphin colt.

SANDS CROONER carries a 6lb penalty for his 5f Doncaster success last week but he remains feasibly treated on his best form and should give another good account this afternoon. Hazelrigg does not look the easiest of rides but he won over this C&D earlier this month and a 5lb rise might not prevent another big run. Red Rosanna showed signs of a return to form last time and could run a big race for each-way punters.
A tricky puzzle to solve, several of these arriving either in form, or very well handicapped on their best. Red Rosanna falls into the latter category, and may go well at a decent price. Brierty has very solid claims, while Highland Warrior is another who should make his presence felt.

KAKAPUKA won with a bit in hand over 6f at Doncaster last month and he looks progressive so a 4lb rise in the handicap might not be enough to stop him from going close here. Supreme Spirit showed a good attitude to make a winning debut over 6f at Ripon last month and she commands the utmost respect on her handicap debut off a mark of 75. Tasmeem is yet to hit top gear this term but can figure if doing so here.
Gramercy takes something of a drop in class and can get back to winning ways under Jamie Spencer. Solstice should get ideal conditions and could go well at a price, while Supreme Spirit will almost certainly be making her mark in handcaps before long.

Comedy Act is in fine form at present and is highly respected but he is 3lb higher than when beaten fair and square by Home Advantage over 1m4f at Bath last week. DOMINATION was not suited by a muddling pace over 1m4f at Salisbury last time but he is progressive and the step up to this trip will suit so he gets the call. Bowdler's Magic and Cornish Beau are other likely contenders.
Not many runners but an interesting handicap all the same, Domination sure to be popular upped in trip after the way he shaped at Salisbury. Bowdler's Magic has also been crying out for a greater emphasis on stamina, however, and could represent slightly better value, whilst Comedy Act will probably be playing for the places once again.

SIR FRANK WAPPAT ran out a game winner over this C&D earlier this month and a 3lb rise for that success looks fair so he might be able to supplement that success this afternoon. Baltimore Jack has been raised just 2lb for his Nottingham success over a mile earlier this month and he is entitled to make an impact here. Chosen Forever returned to form with a solid effort at York last time and he has a chance on that form.
Sir Frank Wappat is the obvious starting point as he bids to follow up his win over C&D, but he will face competition for the lead this time, most likely from another recent winner Baltimore Jack, and preference is for Arabian Spirit, who can make his class tell down in a 0-75 for the first time in over 2 years, with any softening of the ground likely to enhance his claims.

GHUFA gets on very well with Sophie Silvester and, whilst he has risen steadily up the ratings this year, he might still be capable of making his presence felt here. Ra Junior has yet to find top gear this season but he has dropped to an attractive mark as a result and it could be dangerous to overlook him. This is tougher than the Wolverhampton handicap which Dream Win won last month but there could be more to come from him and he is worthy of consideration.
Not easy to pick between the 5 in the handicap proper, but the form of King Zeal's latest win looks strong, and he is taken to put his recent Chepstow disappointment behind him at the main expense of Dream Win.
