Cerejeira arguably produced a career best performance when third at Musselburgh last time and should give another good account under talented apprentice Jason Hart, but the vote goes to SHARP SHOES, who won this race last year. His record at the Scottish track is pretty impressive (won twice and placed once from four visits) and he may have just needed the run when finishing eighth at Catterick last month, that being his first start since January. Da'Quonde continues to run well and will have plenty of supporters of her own.
Not easy to make a compelling case for many of these, with Da'Quonde and Sandwith the 2 that appeal as the likeliest to fight out the finish. Narrow preference is for Da'Quonde on account of her being lighly raced and open to more improvement.

ROYAL STRAIGHT looks the one to beat. In cracking form towards the end of last season, he certainly continued where he left off when losing out by a short-head over C&D on Saturday and, quickly turned out escaping a rise in the handicap, he will be fancied to regain the winning thread. Beautiful Day is now 16lb lower on turf than his current all-weather rating and should be in or around the money, while Henrys Gift was placed off a 2lb higher mark here in August and has each-way claims.
Eastward Ho ended last year on a high and showed enough on his recent return to suggest he can resume winning ways here. Henrys Gift and Royal Straight could emerge as the chief threats.

JUST LILLE, a four-time course winner, should prove a cut above these rivals. Ann Duffield's nine-year-old is way clear on official ratings and won both starts in claiming company last year with the minimum amount of fuss. In what could well develop into a separate race for the minor placings, Sharp Sovereign is fancied to get the better of Bollin Dolly. The former has run well at this venue on a number of occasions in the past (recording a couple of C&D victories) and, unlike the latter, is race-fit.
Just Lille looks to have been found a good opportunity dropped back to claiming company and can take full advantage. Bollin Dolly should provide the stiffest opposition to the selection and is taken to finish second.

ROYAL OPERA should prove extremely difficult to beat on his return to Flat duty. Nothing went right for Brian Ellison's charge on his latest start in this code at Wolverhampton in February (broke slowly before clipping heels and stumbling entering the straight) but he showed that all is well when producing a 7-length victory over hurdles at Kelso last time. Still nicely treated on the level and with an ability to go through any ground, he looks to have an outstanding chance, with Daring Dream and Petsas Pleasure, both well treated on best form, feared most.
Fourth Generation remains relatively lightly raced and may be open to more progress than a lot of his rivals. He is taken to defy Royal Opera, who comes into this contest on the back of a hurdling success, with Good Boy Jackson capable of filling the frame.

It will be interesting to see if either Early Shirely or Legal Blond attract any market support on their respective debuts, especially the former who represents the Kevin Ryan stable that won this race 12 months ago, but GOWANHARRY could make her experience count. The three-year-old daughter of Choisir left last season's debut performance well behind when runner-up over 6f at Thirsk almost three weeks ago and must go extremely close this evening if taking another step in the right direction. Great Nicanor was progressive last year but does lack a recent run.
Gowanharry looked to be a filly of some potential when runner-up on her reappearance and can go one better here. The two newcomers, Legal Bond and Early Shirley, may provide her with most to do, with the former narrowly preferred to grab second place.

Powerful Pierre warrants plenty of respect after his narrow victory on the all-weather at Wolverhampton last time, but he rarely runs two races alike and CRIMSON KNOT is marginally preferred. The Alan Berry-trained filly ran a cracker, finishing third, under Matthew Hopkins over C&D on Sunday and should go well off the same mark tonight providing those exertions haven't taken their toll. Northern Bolt looks worthy of a place on the shortlist returning to the scene of his latest victory.
Crimson Knot is taken to build on the promise of her recent C&D third and win here. She may face her biggest challenge from Weetentherty, who is taken to improve on his seasonal reappearance and narrowly beat the returning North Central into second spot.
