Point-to-point winner ROSSMORE LAD made a promising start to his hurdling career when runner-up over 2m5f at Warwick last month and, with improvement expected, he gets the vote to go one better today. Raduis Bleu represents the stable who won this race 12 months ago and, although frustrating since imported from France, looks to have leading claims while Camden cannot be overlooked returning to the scene of his only NH win thus far.
With Camden and Allerford Jack having both disappointed last time, this looks at the mercy of Raduis Bleu, who will appreciate the step back up in trip. The biggest threat may come from Rossmore Lad.

FRUITY O'ROONEY is fancied to defy the burden of top weight. He wasn't disgraced when runner-up behind a useful sort over an extended 3m2f trip that was probably too far at Chepstow last time and returning to the scene of both wins over fences thus far can only help. American Trilogy is a class act on his day and must be feared while Leicester winner Swansbrook is another that cannot be left out of calculations.
With American Trilogy failing to convince as a chaser, Fruity O'Rooney and Swansbrook could have this between them, with preference for the latter.

Brilliant warrants respect despite a 4lb rise in the handicap for his workmanlike victory in selling company at Fakenham last time, but KING KASYAPA edges the vote in an open looking heat. Although without a win since September 2007, he has been returning to form recently and a falling handicap mark gives him a great chance. Airedale Lad would carry more confidence if running at his beloved Plumpton but has strong claims nonetheless.
Not as competitive as the numbers suggest. King Kasyapa shaped as if retaining all his old ability over this trip at Wincanton recently and is difficult to oppose racing from a 7 lb lower mark. Diamanpeg and Brilliant may fare best of the remainder.

ERE ALFIE made the most of a soft lead when scoring readily over 3m at Ludlow in February and, despite an 11lb hike in the handicap, he could take some stopping if getting his own way out in front again. Arturo Uno has been knocking on the door recently and should be in the thick of the action once more, while Troy Tempest is entitled to have learnt a great deal from his third on his chasing debut at Chepstow last month and is no forlorn hope.
Troy Tempest could be a handicapper to follow if learning from his initial experience over fences and gets the nod over the front-running Ere Alfie.

She has displayed a fair level of ability in three starts since tackling hurdles and the form of her second at Ffos Las most recently took a big boost when the winner, Sprinter Sacre, went on to finish third in the Grade 1 Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham. Spe Salvi could feature if unscathed from her Bangor fall.
Sorcillera is probably flattered by her proximity to Sprinter Sacre at Ffos Las, but she still has leading claims in this company. Yvonne Evelyn is respected dropping back in trip, while course winner Midnight Macarena would have a chance if returning to her best.

Themanfromcork could well be worth a second look in the betting market on his racecourse debut for the champion trainer but, with the benefit of a run, VICTOR ECHO gets the nod. He stayed on really well to take fourth first time out over 2m at Ffos Las last month (sixth has since finished third in a Listed race) and this extra yardage will almost certainly help his cause. Kaylif Aramis has shown enough in previous starts to suggest that he can mount a bold bid.
Victor Echo is expected to improve on his opening effort, but Kaylif Aramis sets quite a good standard and is taken to get off the mark. Themanfromcork makes some appeal on paper, though the fact he's tongue tied on debut dents confidence somewhat.

GORES ISLAND showed plenty of encouraging signs when runner-up on his first public appearance behind the well regarded Knight Pass at Southwell in January and any improvement would make him a tough nut to crack here. Like the selection, Grab The Glory and City Press are entitled to have learnt a great deal from promising debut performances and should figure if progressing.
Grabtheglory will be suited by the step up in trip after staying on well at Kempton and looks the one to beat, with City Press and Gores Island the obvious dangers on form.
