ROSSERK ABBEY looked to have a bit in hand when a four-length winner at Exeter earlier this month, gaining some handy compensation for Kevin Bishop's six-year-old, who looked like winning at Newton Abbot the time before that when falling two from home. He could prove just as effective back up in distance off a 6lb higher mark. Alanjou appeared progressive in the summer and wasn't disgraced when narrowly missing out on the hat-trick when last seen at Newton Abbott, while Nicky Henderson's Solonng is worth a market check on just his second start for the handler and tried in cheekpieces.

Miss Honey Ryder was twice a winner in bumpers last season and wasn't disgraced when pitched into Grade 3 company at Punchestown in the spring. However, a chance is taken on WHITEHOTCHILLIFILI, who beat a useful cast when impressing on debut at Southwell last December and the form of her subsequent outings can't be sniffed at. She was down the field in Aintree's Grade 2 bumper for mares, but mixed it with some handy operators at Listed level before that at Sandown and has the class to play a leading role in this contest. Lunar Baby is entitled to appreciate the switch to hurdling, with Rules debutant Rarest Diamond worthy of a market check having joined Colin Tizzard.

MONSIEUR LECOQ was deemed good enough to run in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham in March and remains open to plenty of improvement for Jane Williams. The five-year-old has a bit to find on bare form with the likes of Clyne and Beltor, but he has shown a liking for testing ground conditions and could improve past the pair under promising 5lb conditional Chester Williams. Le Prezien was frustrating to follow last season but finished an excellent second in this 12 months ago, while Mohaayed is interesting given that he has already had a run.
