EDLOMOND shaped better than the bare result when third over 2m4f at this course last month, travelling well for the most part before weakening quickly, and the return to the minimum trip should see him in a more favourable light. His main rivals - Not Til Monday and Osric - both return from breaks, so the market warrants close inspection, but the first-named is likely to provide the most resistance given his record at this level which includes a victory in this race last year.
Not Til Monday made hard work of landing the odds in this event 12 months ago and has been off since early-November, while Osric has been absent even longer (though the booking of Richard Johnson does catch the eye) but it may be worth chancing Impertinent, who won an AW handicap in the autumn and got bogged down in the mud on her hurdling debut here on New Year's Day.

Earth Dream recorded a thumping C&D success in April 2012 and ran well on his return from a layoff when fourth in the Fox Hunters' at Aintree. The 11-year-old would boast solid claims if building on that effort, but ROCKITEER has notched a brace at Ludlow since the turn of the year, posting a career best under this code last month, and a reproduction of that form ought to prove sufficient. Gary Moore can do no wrong at present and his Bow Quest warrants respect with the step up in trip sure to suit, but QUEEN SPUD scored nicely enough at Stratford to think that a 7lb rise, combined with an ease in grade, should prove within the capabilities of the lightly-raced five-year-old. Dream Mistress wasn't disgraced on her handicap debut at Market Rasen and a subsequent 2lb ease leaves her feasibly treated in a moderate affair.
Queen Spud is sure to be popular but does go without the cheekpieces which have seemingly brought about an improvement of late and it might be worth taking a chance on Dream Mistress, who went well for a long way over 3m last time and should find this trip ideal.
