Verdict

DOWNING SEVEN has fair recent Western Cape form and could do even better trying the Polytrack after a change of trainer. LAW COURT is in good heart and should fight out the finish. SPACE EXPLORER needs to do more to win a race but could play a minor role. SJAMBOK disappointed last time out but should do better this distance. Verdict

A small field but we should get a competitive finish. AERIAL VIEW smashed them last time out and has every chance of following up on that win. WILDEST DREAMS has improved a lot this year and should contest the finish once again if running up to her best form. Stable companions GOLIGHTLY and HAZY CRAZY NIGHT are course-and-distance suited and are not out of it. ETERNITY RING tries the Polytrack and could be the surprise package. HEARTSEASE seems better than her last two runs and could earn some money.

Verdict

An interesting race. QUASIMODO was recently runner-up in the East Cape Derby and that is normally a decent form race. One is not so sure that is the case this time but he does clearly like this surface and a decent trip. ZIG ZAG likes the Polytrack and could be even better over this longer distance. CENTRAL CITY was making good progress at the end of his last tun and has a winning chance. AMERICAN LANDING won well on the turf recently and could be back to his best. MAGNUM FIRE has ability but does not always show it. JACOB'S LADDER could earn some minor money.
