Verdict

An interesting opening event. Newcomer LOTUS SILK is a Rafeef filly that represents the strong Richard Fourie-Alan Greeff combination and could score on debut. DARLINGBUDSOFMAY has not been reliable but is capable of scoring. MONEY GALORE has run well in all three of her starts and can be a real threat to these rivals. ICED MARMALADE did not show her best on the Polytrack and is likely to do a lot better on the grass. TORZIA can improve on local debut. TOUCH THE SWORD, WALTZING DOLL and WORLD OF DIAMONDS are all capable of improvement.

Verdict

BRIGHT ERUPTION did not show much on debut but put in a much better effort second time around and should make a bold bid at beating these rivals. PICK A POMODORO, GREY WARRIOR and RED ORCHID RISING all have been patchy so far but are capable of improvement. LACRYMA CHRISTI showed improvement on the Polytack but might play a minor role at best. SHORI KAI showed promise on her debut and would not be a surprise winner.

Verdict

FAIRY KNIGHT is the class act. He only gets going very late in 1200m races so it will be interesting to see this 1000m dash. CLIFF TOP can be very speedy when in the mood and his last run is safely ignored. ANUSCHKA'S WORLD returned to his best when a well backed winner last time and could follow up if in the same mood.
