Verdict

A tough card. GRADUATION TIME was not disgraced on local debut but should do a lot better back on the grass. MIRACULOUS MAN did not shine at Durbanville but has run well over this course and distance and is not out of it. CAPTAIN EFFICIENT only found one better on local debut and has a winning chance. PONTE VECCHIO is better than his last run would suggest and could earn some more money. ENCHANTED SKY has made the trip from the Western Cape so is clearly capable of improvement. CAPTIVATE returns to the turf and can do better than her Polytrack form.

Verdict

A small field but it should be a cracking race with lots of speed. THREE ROCKS is clearly a good filly and although she is not as speedy as some in this race she has a powerful finish and can add another win to her tally. PARIS LASS has beaten THREE ROCKS but it was when THREE ROCKS was making her debut. CIVIL RIGHTS is course-and-distance suited and will not go down without a fight. TIPSY TINA is speedy and could make all. ANGEL DEB'S has ability and is not out of it. EUROPEAN SUMMER has been very consistent of late and does her best work late, but these may be too speedy for her over this distance.

Verdict

ILHA DA MAURICIA may have just needed her last run. She is not well drawn for this but will be doing her best work late. MY AMI BEACH is not the most reliable but she does have a good turn of foot when in the mood and is clearly not out of it. OPERA SWING has been good on the Polytrack of late but may find this distance a bit sharp on the turf. FOR ALL WE KNOW is consistent and should be right there at the finish from a good draw. SPIRIT PRINCESS makes her local debut and would not be a surprise winner.

Verdict

LADY MISTICO is improving and coming off two nice wins on the Polytrack. She is as good on the turf so could complete a hat-trick but it looks very competitive for a small field. CARBONADO has won over this course and distance and is weighted to run a big race. PINNACLE was in a galloping mood last time out and could follow up if in the same mood. ROSE OF BAYEUX is hat-trick seeking after some nice wins and deserves respect. TWICE TO HEAVEN and FLAME FLOWER are also capable of earning some money.

Verdict

Trainer Glen Kotzen has a decent record when raiding the Eastern Cape and BLACKBERRY MALT chased home the decent KHAYA'S HOPE when last seen at this course. He has not won in some time but should run a decent race from a good draw. BOLD RESOLVE has been unreliable of late but is course-and-distance suited. TEATRO is better than his last run on the Polytrack and can bounce back to score. YOU KNOW WHO is unreliable but is also not out of it. PRINCE VIHAAN is a dangerous customer over this track and trip and is looking to complete a hat-trick. SPIN DOCTOR will improve on his last run which was on the Polytrack. Verdict

FLOWER OF SAIGON was not disgraced when third last time out in the Western Cape and has a good record at this course. She was a wide margin winner the last time she came to Fairview. MEDLERS TART proved in need of the run last time so she can be expected to do a lot better this time. DEFINITELY MAYBE is in good heart but this is a tougher race. DOUBLE CHECK will like this course and distance and should contest the finish. WILDEST DREAMS showed what she is capable of last time out but that was on the Polytrack.

Verdict

One of the highlights of the year in the Eastern Cape Algoa Cup. Not a race to be confident in but we should get a big run out of THE FUTURIST. Jockey Craig Zackey has done very well when aboard this gelding and can go close at decent odds. HOEDSPRUIT was doing his best work late when chasing home game and gallant GRAZINGINTHEGRASS last time out and there should not be too much between those rivals again. GRAZINGINTHEGRASS just keeps winning but will be tested by these rivals over this distance, TRIPLE TIME has not been reliable of late but was narrowly beaten over this distance last time out. LORD WILLIAM has a horror draw to overcome but deserves respect. Stable companion HAN SOLO won this race last year and can do it again. FUTURE SWING has yet to try this distance but is not out of it.

Verdict

A cracking sprint. KHAYA'S HOPE seems to have missed his intended targets this season and is clearly better around the turn but has a winning chance against these rivals. CRUISE CONTROL and CLIFF TOP have been trading wins throughout their career and one can never be too sure which of them will come up tops on the day. Include both in all exotics. INHERIT THE RAIN is not an easy ride but he does quicken nicely when in the mood and could earn some more money. SAFE RETURN could be the surprise package back on the grass. CAPTAIN CASANOVA has been very good on the Polytrack of late and has also won on the turf.
