Verdict

Watch the betting on the first-timers JUST CHESTNUT and LADY CLARISSE. LADONNA MIA has some fair form and should contest the finish once again. LEMON PEPPER has shown promise in both of her starts and should be right there at the finish once again. SILENT OBSERVER did all but win her latest start and can go one better this time around. More was expected of TAKE CONTROL and she has been a disappointment. She makes her local debut for an in-form trainer so watch for improvement.

Verdict

Trainer Gavin Smith looks to have a very strong hand. AGRADEMARMALADE made all the running to win well last time out. He deserved that success and with the confidence of that win he could make all the running to follow up. Stable companion SAFARI BLUE was a disappointment last time out when finding nothing and trailing home well beaten. More has been expected of SAFARI BLUE and we expect a much better run. Rival Alan Greeff takes them on with his improving ARCTIC ADVANCE but more is needed from this colt. AQUAHOLIC could also contest the finish.

A small field and the Gavin Smith-trained JUST SO EASY could be hard to beat if repeating her last run. She does seem well suited to this course and distance and may make all the running to score. stable companions from the Cliffie Miller yard, AFTER THE STORM and TIME OFF, should keep her honest and are not out of it. Verdict

A tough race to find the winner and a wide spread of runners is advised for the exotics. CRYSTAL STREAM is well suited to the race conditions and will give them something to chase down late but she has proven to be vulnerable close home. BHAKKA makes his local debut and the betting will probably be the best guide but he must be included in all bets. HIT FOR SIX was not disgraced last time. He is suited to this course and distance. INNERSPACE is a recent course-and-distance maiden winner. That was his first try with blinkers and he could be ahead of handicap rating.

PARIS OPERA is improving and was doing her best work at the finish of her last start but will be giving weight to most of her rivals. THEATRICAL MOMENT makes her local debut. Verdict

A small field for the feature but it should be an exciting race. SOUND CHECK has not done much wrong so far and has beaten Western Cape runners before so could be the one to beat. Trainer Justin Snaith has not been as successful with his recent raids to the Eastern Cape this year but that can change and HOMELY GIRL does look an improving type. QUICK BREEZE represents another raider in Brett Crawford. This filly was full of running when scoring last time out and could follow up. VIC FALLS and WAYMAKER are not out of it.
