BRELAN D'AS is going to take some stopping on his second start over fences in this select novice race. The unexposed French import was sent off favourite to win on chase debut at Ffos Las last month, a race in which smart hurdler West Approach was successful, suggesting he is clearly held in high regard. He won over hurdles himself at Wincanton, bolting up in a handicap off 130, and he's entitled to have come forward from that first run over the larger obstacles. Impulsive Star has an absence to overcome but is respected, likewise Flintham while Duel At Dawn ran well on his fencing bow at Chepstow.

Colin Tizzard has snapped up the services of the highly touted Mitch Bastyan for Padleyourowncanoe who was a pleasing fourth on his debut for the Venn Farm handler having been in useful form on the Flat when in the care of David Loughnane. There's every chance the three-year-old can build on that showing here, however, preference is for the recent course winner NORSE LIGHT who has the majority of his 6lb rise nullified by his rider Tom Humphries' 5lb claim. Thundering Home has won over track and trip from a 1lb higher mark earlier in the year and could surprise, while Dusky Raider won well at Uttoxeter when last seen.
