BLU CAVALIER chased home the high-class If The Cap Fits over C&D on his debut for this yard in October and that form has worked out extremely well. It should also be noted that was his first start since March 2016 and he is fully entitled to take a step forward this afternoon. The two main threats are clearly Golden Sunrise and Samburu Shujaa and it would be surprising if they are not in the mix for the places.
BLU CAVALIER was a fairly useful winner in bumpers for Alexandra Dunn and shaped as if every bit as good after 19 months off when beaten only by the potentially very-smart If The Cap Fits on hurdle bow over this C&D in October. He's entitled to improve from that and can prove too strong for Samburu Shujaa, who is a clear next best.

Two of the last four winners of this race went on to win at the Cheltenham Festival a few weeks later and this is another interesting renewal. CHARMING ZEN beat a 134-rated rival by five lengths for Dan Skelton on his UK debut last February and and he can bounce back form a poor effort at Kempton last time out. That was his first start for Nicky Henderson and he is clearly much better than that form suggests, while a mark of 136 may also be very lenient. Delire D'estruval is another youngster whose best days may still be ahead of him, while Overland Flyer and Present Times are other potential winners.
PRESENT TIMES was unlucky to bump into a big improver at Chepstow in December, and he remains one to be interested in. Charming Zen is clearly thought capable of better, while it will be intriguing to see how Overland Flyer fares on his comeback.

Ramses De Teillee has been in fair form this season and gave away weight to beat off a smart field at Chepstow in novice company last month. He will enjoy this ground once more and looks a danger, especially if allowed a bit of rope at the front. Pobbles Bay was far from disgraced when seventh in the Welsh National five weeks ago and may do better now dropped in distance, but this can go the way of ELEGANT ESCAPE. His second in the Grade One Kauto Star at Kempton over Christmas sets the standard and he can land this en route to better things during the spring.
RAMSES DE TEILLEE is improving fast as a chaser and he holds sound claims on these terms. Elegant Escape made hard work of it in Grade 1 company last time but has to be feared, while this trip is more suitable for Pobbles Bay.

LE ROCHER has done very little wrong over fences having won all three starts and answered every question on his stiffest task to date when beating Three Musketeers at Market Rasen in a graduation chase. He looks the sensible option in a race where plenty of these have questions to answer. Verni looks an interesting contender on his chase debut having finished second in the Martin Pipe to Champagne Classic, while Brelan D'As is capable of better than what he has shown so far in his two chase starts.
RAYVIN BLACK gets the vote in a cracking novice chase. He bettered his useful hurdles form when just failing at Leicester last month and looks a winner waiting to happen in this sphere. Le Rocher is proving most likeable and won't give up his unbeaten status over fences lightly. Verni was second in last season's Martin Pipe and is an interesting runner.

TIME TO MOVE ON was a very impressive winner on his racecourse debut over C&D in what looked a good race on paper by 10 lengths from a useful Harry Fry individual in Caribert. He has a 7lb penalty but it seems notable that Barry Geraghty keeps the ride and he can put his experience to good use. Gaucho Gil is an interesting contender being a half-brother to Forge Meadow, while Just Midas and Here's Bingo complete the shortlist.
TIME TO MOVE ON created a good impression when making a winning start to his career over C&D in December and looks more than capable of defying a penalty. Fontwell runner-up Bang On will perhaps be the one to follow him home unless the market speaks strongly in the favour of newcomers Gaucho Gil and/or Just Midas.
