DUNGENESS was well supported for a similar race at Plumpton eight days ago and although he ultimately disappointed favourite backers, Venetia Williams' charge is well worth another look. The Beat All gelding gets in under a nice weight and should appreciate the step up in distance. Royal Opera is feared most and can make his presence felt if picking up from where he left off at Market Rasen last June, while the consistent Superciliary should be thereabouts.

MASSANNIE is forced to concede plenty of weight to her rivals but she looks a class above these mares. David Pipe's charge ran second to subsequent Haydock Grade 2 winner Toubeera at Plumpton in January and that is by far and away the best form on offer. Bobble Boru was pulled up at Fakenham last time out but wins at Ludlow and Wincanton in particular mean she warrants respect, while Buckboru makes her hurdling bow and brings some creditable bumper form to the table.

THE CLYDA ROVER couldn't be backed based on two lacklustre performances at Wincanton and Fontwell this season, but the dual C&D winner (scored in this corresponding race 12 months ago) is just 2lb higher than his last winning mark and seems to come alive at the Devonshire venue. Five Star Wilsham was in the process of running a big race at Ludlow before unseating his rider four out last time, so he's noted, along with last year's third Musical Wedge and Warwick fourth Alderluck.

However, his trainer attributed his poor effort there to slower ground conditions, so he is passed over this time. BEFOREALL appears to be improving, as shown by his recent second in a race that has produced two subsequent winners, and he looks the one to be on. Farmer Matt performed well on his chasing debut and can run a big race, while Knockraheen should be checked in the betting on his chasing bow with blinkers applied for the first time.

CAPOTE was a point winner before being bought for 75,000 pounds and made a winning debut over hurdles at Catterick last month. RUGGED JACK showed some of the sparkle he had exhibited in NH Flat races when he finished runner-up over hurdles at Taunton in January. That effort was promising enough to suggest he can win this on his handicap debut. Milor De La Borie may prove to be his toughest opponent with cheekpieces applied for the first time, as he represents a yard in excellent form. However, he has a long absence to overcome, so the race-fit Revaader, who races off a career high mark, may be a lively contender.
