It is extremely hard to oppose LAND AFAR, who chased home a subsequent Grade 2 winner at Huntingdon two starts ago. The 10-year-old failed to fire at Leicester when last seen, but he should prove to be a cut above now eased significantly in grade. Kintaro's fourth in handicap company at Taunton suggests that he might be the main threat, ahead of Denzil.
Hard to get away from LAND AFAR (NAP) here who has a clear class edge over his rivals. Heavy ground was a valid excuse last time but he had previously chased home a useful rival giving weight away. Denzil hinted at a revival last time where too keen in front and could give the selection the most to think about. Breccia was given a poor ride last time but should be capable of better than that judged on her flat form. She isn't entirely dismissed in a weak race.

RANGATIRA JACK bounced back to form when not beaten far into second over C&D a few weeks ago and the Linda Blackford-trained seven-year-old clearly tops the shortlist on the back of that performance, despite a 2lb rise. The rest all arrive here with plenty to prove, but Constant Friday and Wot You Wearing are the pick of them on recent evidence.
A weak race where a chance is taken that WOT YOU WEARING can get back to the level of his 2024 hurdles form which would see him more than capable of taking this. His race was ended when hampered by a faller on chase debut but wasn't disgraced that day despite some poor jumping and is worth another chance. Rangatira Jack showed improved form here last time benefitting from an easy lead and is dangerous if allowed his own way again. Former bumper winner Ici La Reine has been struggling over hurdles but a revival isn't ruled out in this poor race on chase debut with the longer trip in her favour.

SUPER SAINT appeared to have plenty in hand when winning on his handicap debut over 2m4f at Sedgefield last month and a 3lb rise may underestimate Paul Nicholls' gelding. Al Sayah racked up a double when last seen over obstacles in May and has to be noted on her return to action, while Broderick edges out Koukeo to be best of the rest.
SUPER SAINT had plenty in hand when making a winning handicap debut last time and is fancied to follow up off just 3lb higher. That looks lenient when it is considered that the runner up looked a huge threat until being stopped in the run at the weekend. The biggest threat is likely to come from multiple flat and hurdles winner Al Sayah who was thriving last summer and will enjoy the quick ground on her return. If she is fit for her reappearance then she should be thereabouts off her current rating.

SEEYOUINMYDREAMS clearly wasn't at her best when racing too keenly for her own good at Kempton in October and the drop back in trip is likely to see Paul Nicholls' mare in a better light on her handicap bow. Inside Man won over C&D in November and is expected to benefit from returning on a sounder surface. The consistent Princess T and Campaign Trail head the remainder.
Consistent dual purpose veteran PRINCESS T looks the most solid option here returning from a break. She was a winner in the autumn and ran a big race last time unsuited by the steady pace. The winner of that race has recorded several victories since suggesting the selection is capable off this mark. 3 time flat winner Campaign Trail was successful on his first try over hurdles and has had excuses since under big weights. He could progress back on a quicker surface which will also suit Commanding View who is open to a revival back over hurdles after failing to take to fences.

A DEFINITE GETAWAY appears for the first time since December and won't be found a better opportunity to get his head in front. His last success came here in October off 1lb lower and the seven-year-old is likely to be a tough nut to crack, especially with all of his rivals having pulled up when last seen. Castle Daragh may benefit from a first-time visor to pose the main threat, with Up The Straight next best.
The only one arriving in form albeit on the back of a short break if A DEFINITE GETAWAY. He's proven consistent in this sphere and wasn't given a hard time when beaten by the future Grimthorpe runner up last time. He can account for some out of form rivals including Up The Straight who was formerly useful but has had injury absences and doesn't look quite the force of old. Castle Daragh hasn't built on a hunter chase victory and still looks poorly weighted based on that.

SWITCH HITTER was a useful performer when in the care of Paul Nicholls and arrives following a hat-trick in the point-to-point sphere. The 10-year-old is clear on official ratings and is expected to continue his fine run of form. Windance has the ability to be competitive and merits respect along with King's Quay, whose sole previous appearance under Rules saw him win over C&D in April 2023.
SWITCH HITTER was capable of winning off 133 over fences a couple of years ago and has proven prolific in points this year winning on his last 3 attempts. Good ground is key to him and he should be outclassing this modest field on his rules return. Windance fell when looking the likely winner last winter and held form in defeat on his rules runs after. He should be fit after a recent spin in points and can challenge the selection. Snap Fish was twice successful in points last year and is worth a market check on his rules debut.
