The way SILVERTOWN finished well for second in an extended two-and-a-quarter-mile handicap hurdle at this venue last month bodes well for this step up in trip. That was a marked improvement from previous hurdling efforts, and it showed that he has an aptitude for this unique track. Old Durham Town showed much more on his second start in Limerick when chasing home a four-length winner. He looks set to be heavily involved. Tecumseh Sherman and Fakir D'alene will have their supporters. King's Vow shouldn't be discounted on this better ground.

HARDWIRED has shown form on decent ground which entitles him to go well in a race lacking depth. He has been placed in a bumper, a chase and two hurdle races so this could be his time. First-time blinkers go on in a bid to eke out a bit more from him and Shane O'Callaghan reduces his burden by 7lb. Mr Caplan is by Fame And Glory (as is the selection) and should appreciate this better ground. A good run from Silvertown in the first race on this card would enhance LONGACRE SQUARE's chance. The six-year-old beat Silvertown by half a length here in May with the pair 13 lengths clear of the next home. That gives him bright prospects of following up. Cousin Harry is climbing the weights but that indicates he is in form. He has two hurdle victories from his last four appearances and is a worthy opponent. Jazz Ranger ran some race for a 28/1 shot, off an absence of more than eight months, when finishing well for second in Tramore. He didn't land a glove on the winner but that outing should have blown away the cobwebs and he is respected.

SCHONE AUSSICHT was a comfortable winner of a mares' maiden hurdle in Limerick, by a healthy five and a half lengths, and can go in again. This multiple winner on the Flat likes a bit of nice ground and should have a career over hurdles. Her back form behind Roseys Hollow is certainly notable. Imperial Sachin's is only rated 1lb inferior to the selection and both have 7lb claimers on board. He shed his maiden tag by a neck in Kilbeggan, and there should be more races to be won with him. GRINN left previous efforts in the rear-view mirror when finishing a decent second in Roscommon and can build upon that. She was always to the fore before giving best to the winner after the penultimate flight. Rivals with strong claims are thin on the ground but any market strength behind Impressive Duke would be noteworthy. He hasn't been seen since finishing runner-up in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel in December 2019. He has won two handicap chases in Britain, though, and if he returns here fit enough would have to be a major player.

SECRET SEA showed ability in a Navan handicap on the Flat last year when with John Oxx, and the Sea The Stars filly can make a winning handicap debut over hurdles. She was just touched off in a mares' maiden at Wexford last time and, up 2lb for that, she will benefit from the very useful 7lb allowance that Jack Foley can claim. Master Cornwall possibly found the ground too soft last time and is better judged on his third at Tramore in April. Like the selection, he's only a four-year-old and is open to improvement. Fassbender is more exposed but ran his best race so far when caught close home at Tipperary. That was on the back of a four-month absence and, off a 3lb higher mark, he has to come into calculations.

A grand-daughter of talented chaser Opera Hat, CARRIGMOORNA ELM was well-backed before finishing fourth on debut behind Must Be Obeyed at Ballinrobe. Beaten just over ten lengths on heavy ground, the Shantou filly will be a major player if improving for better ground here. Rossies Tara certainly improved for a sounder surface when sixth at Fairyhouse and can continue to go the right way, while Shesdoenwell is entitled to improve on her debut fourth at Limerick but was beaten quite a long way. The betting will be instructive with regard to the chances of the two newcomers, the Robin Des Champs mare Brog Ban Espana and Rigmarole. The latter is from a yard always to be respected in bumpers and is a half-sister to useful hurdler Lifetime Ambition.
