A King's Smile could appreciate a return to the main track after a dismal run on the lawn and is fancied to go close, along with Allynn's Deal, who was ahead of Emil Brook here Sep 13, but preference is for FEATHERTOP. Michael Gorman's charge struggled in his first outing against winners latest, but the experience won't have been lost on him and he remains open to improvement.
BIG SID'S PARTY ran a respectable race here Sep 12, but is now in the hands of Scott Lake and it's interesting he's moved the son of With Approval up in class on his debut for the barn. Freeze Alert is another running for new connections and has to be given every chance following a brace of victories, while Royal Rahy had War Hawk in third when scoring last time and is yet another to make a note of on his debut for a new trainer.
SUSANNE'S HONOR won as he liked here Sep 4 and though this is a tougher call, he could be up to the task. Thunder Rush is a consistent sort and may not be too far away, while Football Rusher is drawn close enough to the inside rail to mount a challenge.
BINGOBEAR takes a drop in class after running well in stronger races recently and can land the spoils under his in-form rider. Sir Aly has also been running in tougher races and has made the frame on his last two starts so he must be seen as a live danger. Warrant appeals most of the remainder.
Heavenly Creation, Melissa's Prayer and Proud Of Rosie have all shown enough on the track so far to suggest they can pick up a maiden at some point but all are taken on with newcomer LOOSENDS. Anthony Dutrow's filly comes from a winning family and if the clockers' reports are anything to go by, then she looks ready to make a winning start.
The speed figure recorded by Dandy Squall when winning over C&D earlier in the month makes him a live contender here but that represented significant improvement and whether he'll reproduce that effort is questionable. SAND SLOUGH is a consistent sort at the top of his game and can be relied upon to give a good account again. He takes a slight drop in class here and has a good draw to help his cause. Devil's Gulch is also well drawn and should go well but has a bit to find with the selection on recent form.
Dixie Demon has claims on his close third at Colonial on his penultimate outing, while Haajes and Police Chief warrant respect after encouraging debuts over 6f. Watch the market for clues regarding the newcomers, especially the well bred Pegasusbystorm, but it could pay to side with JADE'S REVENGE. He is yet to race on turf but put up the highest last speed-figure in a higher grade over a similar trip here and represents a hot trainer/jockey combo.
Igor broke his duck in style over an extended 1m here latest and a repeat performance should see him go close again here, but this is tougher and may just find one too good in SAFEBREAKER. Michael Pino's charge had 3 lengths on Upscaled when filling the runner-up berth in a higher grade here earlier this month and he is open to further progress.
The consistent Tiercel should have his say as usual, while Elgatoesmio will strip-fitter for his third in a similar event last time out and has a rail post today. However, LORD BURLEIGH has been threatening to score in a higher grade in recent months and gets the nod from the best draw today.
