GLENRIDDING has an ideal-looking draw for a frontrunner at Chester and he ran a cracker when second over C&D on his most recent visit to the track last July. Despite this big field, there must be every chance that he will get an uncontested lead and if asked to go clear around the home turn, he could just take a bit of catching. Bahamian Kid carries a 6lb penalty for victory at Warwick last week but looks an obvious danger now back in form. Kildare Sun should be thereabouts but doesn't seem to find winning easy.

ABANDAGOLD is no champion, but she has done little wrong in her three starts and seems to be steadily progressing with experience. Although she doesn't have experience of racing round a bend, her trainer has plenty of winners around here and she looks as if she will appreciate moving up to seven furlongs. Clive Brittain has been doing well with his two-year-olds this season and Bideeya looks an obvious threat. Her dam won on her debut and has bred a middle-distance winner. Abbi Jicaro is the other possible contender.

Mark Johnston has never been afraid to campaign his horses against each other and sets a poser for punters here. Eastern Aria battled on well to score at Goodwood last time and seems happiest when setting the fractions, but stablemate Alpen Glen could hardly have been more impressive when scoring on her debut at Chepstow and this late-maturing type may be better than an official mark of 85 suggests. Amanjena was far too fresh on her reappearance but should come on for that and will appreciate the forecast better ground here.

NIGHT LILY didn't get home when tried over an experimental mile-and-a-half at Doncaster earlier this month. Her earlier form at around this trip entitles her plenty of respect in this rather weak-looking contest, particularly with her handicap mark having slipped back down to the same level from which she finished a solid second at Kempton last November. Justonefortheroad was far from disgraced in a big field at Newbury on his latest start, while Royal Premium is progressing with experience and might reward each-way support if getting to the lead.

Successful when conditions came up on the slow side at Doncaster last month, he has since twice struggled to keep up on quicker ground, but this return to seven furlongs ought to help in that respect. Desert Dreamer has a decent cruising speed and might find this race run to suit, having shown his best form on turning tracks. Zomerlust looks to be on his way back to form.

Musical Maze has obvious claims on her recent second over C&D and she deserves to get her head in front again, but being drawn widest of all in stall 16 looks to have scuppered her chances of success and a place may be more realistic. KIAMA BAY, on the other hand, has a lovely-looking draw on the inside and seems to be progressing rapidly. He has plenty of scope and can defy a 6lb penalty. Hector Spectre could have found the ground unsuitably testing last time and is better judged on his previous fair effort in a Windsor claimer.
