Neil Mulholland looks to have a strong hand here with Shantou Village and DOING FINE. The former arrives on the back of a cracking effort in the Kerry National and should remain competitive off 3lb higher, but Leighton Aspell's mount edges the vote. Neither BIGMARTRE (seventh) or Modus (eighth) could land a telling blow in a red-hot renewal of the JLT at last season's Festival, but Harry Whittington's speedster bounced back with a Grade 2 victory at Ayr a month later and he appears to have a big chance on his reappearance. The seven-year-old has a cracking record when fresh (won first time out in each of the last three seasons) and he could prove difficult to peg back if getting into a rhythm on the front end. Duke Of Navan edged out the selection at Doncaster in January and improved to finish third in Listed company at Ayr when last sighted. He should run well representing the north, while Foxtail Hill can't be ignored having dropped to a 2lb lower mark than when winning this race 12 months ago.

Movewiththetimes would appear to have an excellent chance with all of his rivals, bar Knight In Dubai, giving him weight and his form in novice chases last season, all at Cheltenham, worked out considerably well. That said, he has looked difficult to handle on more than one occasion and was hugely disappointing when jumping poorly behind The Storyteller at the Cheltenham Festival. Preference, therefore, goes to CUBOMANIA, who looked outpaced in a Grade 3 over an extended 2m2f behind Cadmium at Punchestown last time and the return to 2m4f, with a stiff finish, looks in his favour. Monbeg Legend poses an obvious threat with his sound jumping and experience over fences sure to stand him in good stead.

Earlofthecotswolds made a decisive move turning for home at Market Rasen last month which proved vital as he got off the mark at the second time of asking. Nigel Twiston-Davies' gelding carries a penalty for that success, but he will need to settle better at this stiffer track. Master Debonair and Jaytrack Parkhomes look solid contenders for Colin Tizzard and warrant the utmost respect, but the vote goes to STRONG GLANCE. He built on an impressive success at Southwell last November with a good fifth in a strong Listed bumper at Ascot and represents last year's winning stable, who also field Robyndzone and Imperial Alcazar. Romeo Brown shaped with encouragement on New Year's Day when making his racecourse debut behind Acey Milan and is in the right hands to continue his progression.
