Here Comes McCoy was a length too good for Quinta Do Mar in a Market Rasen novice, and there should be little to separate them again. Java Point justified favouritism to break through at Warwick, although he has been beaten off lower figures in handicaps before. Proschema was fifth to subsequent Aintree Hurdle placegetter Millers Bank at Newbury, but this can go to BEAUPORT. BORN SURVIVOR has a 9lb rise to contend with for his Stratford victory, but it was hard not to be very impressed with the manner of that facile triumph and the way he relished the move up to 2m6f offers hope there could be more to come over this longer trip. He is taken to follow up but there is no shortage of dangers, not least C&D scorer Singlefarmpayment, who bounced back with an Ascot victory off 4lb lower, and Beware The Bear, who sneaks in under top weight off a tumbling mark. Nicky Henderson won this race in 2017 and is double-handed courtesy of French Crusader and Hooper. The former chased home subsequent Champion Hurdle winner Epatante in a Listed event at Newbury when last seen, but that was back in November 2019 and his stablemate has the big positive of match-fitness on his side. He built on a jumpers' bumper success when opening his hurdles account by a wide margin at Hereford, but was a fortunate scorer that day as the leader fell at the last and preference today is for the ELHAM VALLEY. Fergal O'Brien's four-year-old belied odds of 66/1 to finish third in the juvenile handicap at the Festival and although he has gone up 3lb, the winner has boosted the form since with a Grade 2 victory and the selection remains firmly on an upward curve after only four outings over timber.
