Solid as a rock with his driver, GENTLEMEN GOLFEUR (9) returns from the professional ranks and looks marginally better than FUN DE BANVILLE (4) who latterly gave a very good account in superior company here. FRIPON D'AUTHISE (13) benefits from a good entry and should logically make amends for his recent Saint-Brieuc blip. GAILLARDE QUERAY (7) is very hard to fault when barefoot and is not incapable of setting the cat among the pigeons.
Debuts in the discipline following some modest efforts under harness. Shod differently this time and will have his supporters

After having found his way in the monte code last winter, JACADY SLY (5) has been even better this term since starting to race unshod all four and looks the pick of the field. Damien Bonne will still be wary of JIRELLITA (4) who left a good impression at Vincennes just nine days ago. Unbeaten in two starts under the saddle, JERICHO DE JARY (8) faces a stiffer test this time but nevertheless looks a serious candidate. JAGUAR DE GODREL (2) is confirmed in the discipline and looks next best.

Superb when barefoot following a long layoff, JAVA DE BELLOU (14) opened her seasonal account at Graignes two weeks ago and with such a good entry should be capable of confirming. Lagadeuc can nevertheless expect to encounter resistance from JOYAU JIBELAU (13) who will be seen out for the first time unshod all four. JEREMY D'AS (8) showed a different side to himself at Laval last time and once again races without shoes. JADE RENARDIER (11) had more than once gone close before finally opening her account at Langon and must be respected.
Moderate mare with two races in her since the winter break. Unlikely to spring any surprises but can still get a look in

IZIA DE MONGIVAL (12) may be the only horse to incur the 25m handicap but she is considerably better than most of the field and should be good enough to open her 2023 account. There will be some resistance though from the consistent IRIAC DU PASSAGE (8) who encouraged on his only appearance at the venue. IGGY PERRINE (6) has one race in him since the winter break and can put his recent sanction behind him. ICK DU VIVIER (2) is well behind in prizemoney and if fully fit will have his chances.
Not without merit but sanctioned more often than not these days and at this level will have his work cut out

GALLAGHER WIND (2) has been enjoying something of a renaissance this term since returning to racing barefoot and even though going left-handed this time, he starts in front and can pull off the hat-trick. The consistent GRAND SOURIRE (5) is confirmed in this category and his recent re-entry run bodes particularly well for his chances against the Heslouin-trained gelding. Fourth here late last month, FELINE DE CALVI (7) confirmed a week later at Saint-Omer and can again figure prominently, as should EDI JOSSELYN (6) who will be fully fit by now.
Useful sort but has not been seen out for almost exactly a year and will need the run

An absolute revelation since leaving the nordics. Not once out of the first two this year and even from the back line can win this

A superb Scandinavian import, ORACLE TILE (12) has simply thrived since coming to France and even though on the second line will take some beating. He will nevertheless be up against the tough IDEAL DU ROCHER (3) who gets a 25m head-start. HAVE SEVEN (7) is back at the top of his game and the nature of his recent Laval success augurs well for his chances. With form at the venue and as consistent as they come, FLEUR DU LUPIN (9) will not be far off the mark.
Unbeaten in both starts to date but takes on some very good horses this time and will need to be at his best

There may not be many runners in this event but it is an interesting race all the same. Ecurie Quick Star is well-armed with the progressive but delicate KUNG FU QUICK (5), and the in-form KALMIA QUICK (6). The former should be good enough to win a race of this nature, provided he can keep his action together, however the latter may first have to contend with the tricky but talented KILLER FOR LOVA (3) who left quite the impression after his Enghien sanction. KALEA DREAM (7) is a filly of considerable talent but she risks being race-rusty.
