ECONOMICS (5) returned from a break a much better horse, winning the Heritage at Rosehill in fine style and the runner up there has since come out and won. Looks a strong formline and the time was handy. All reads well. Much easier for DAUMIER (1) who was never a threat in the Golden Rose but wasn't beaten miles and while the form looks a little scratchy now he did win the Blue Diamond over the Caulfield 1200m. GRAND IMPACT (8) is unbeaten in two and has rated highly in both. Clearly a good talent and worth a shot at this. LOFTY STRIKE (3) is also two from two and would have been high up in the betting in that Blue Diamond had he got his chance to run there. GREECE (14) has always been held in high regard and her Geelong maiden win hinted at why. Looked the part there and likely to be up to races like this.

NORTH STAR LASS (5) has been terrific throughout the Princess Series up in Sydney, winning the Furious and running well in the three other legs. Sound effort in the Flight last time which rated highly and if she gets rolling around Caulfield she won't be easy to peg back. RUSSIAN CONQUEST (1) was no match for her in the Furious but has been a much better filly on good ground. Will want the rain to stay away and if it does she can improve sharply on a nice effort at Sandown. Inside draw means she should settle much closer. MADAME POMMERY (7) is another off the Flight where she was okay. The Tea Rose run in a strong piece of form. From the locals BOOGIE DANCER (4) and SHE'S LICKETYSPLIT (3) won the two main trials in good style. Boogie Dancer did it by a space in the Prelude and the mile looks fine.

MY WHISPER (6) has been a strong winner third up in the past and she might be the way to go in this hugely competitive close to the card. This is a much better scenario for her than her first two this time in. Not beaten far in the Pendant last time and the mile can draw the best out of her now. She is taken ahead of FOXY FRIDA (7) who is also third up and also finds a better scenario today. Barriers give her a chance to turn things around on DAISIES (1) and ELUSIVE EXPRESS (2) from the Valley. They were both terrific there but wonder how much they have to concede from their wide draws. No such issue for ROOTS (16) who has looked very sharp in two wins this time around and should be camped on the back of a good speed.
